24.01.2022 We've just launched new online resources for anyone wanting to learn more about Australia’s first National Guideline for the Assessment and Diagnosis of Autism. Community resources include a video and fact sheet for individuals undergoing an assessment and parents and caregivers of children. These resources explain the Guideline and what to expect from an assessment. A National Guideline Implementation Toolkit will help clinicians to upskill and deliver the recommendations in... the Guideline. The Toolkit includes videos, fact sheets, a clinical practice audit tool, template forms and training information. These resources are available at autismcrc.com.au/national-guideline.

09.01.2022 An Australian-first study by Griffith University researchers has explored the self-reported best attributes, strengths and favourite activities of 83 children on the autism spectrum. Many of the kids identified their strengths as being a good person or friend and having skills in specific areas. Researchers also used data from Autism CRC's Longitudinal study of Australian Students (LASA) to find out from parents what things may help or hinder their child from expressing their strengths across three settings: home, school, and community.

09.01.2022 The team at Autism CRC express our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Professor Margot Prior AO, a true pioneer of autism research. Margot published the first Australian paper on autism in 1973 and was the first female Professor of Clinical Psychology in Australia. The international impact of her leading research was recognised in 2018 with the International Society for Autism Research (INSAR) Lifetime Achievement Award. A mentor, colleague and inspiration to many in our community.
