25.01.2022 Saddened to hear of the passing of Sir Stirling Moss today, aged 90. Without doubt the greatest driver never to have won the world championship. Vale.

21.01.2022 Our next nominee in our series of posts as "the most beautiful car ever made" may be controversial, being more modern in age and nature, and perhaps yet to really attain its due superstar status. Enter the all alloy bodied Jaguar XJ220 from 1992 thru 1994. Produced by Jaguar with partners Tom Walkinshaw Racing, A total of 275 cars was eventually produced after significant technical changes were implemented following its initial showing in 1998. The planned V12 was no longe...r an option, disappointing many people on the waiting list and was replaced by a Jaguar 3.5 litre twin turbo V6. Hardly the stuff that supercars were meant to be made of at the time. Power output from the V6 was rated 405 kW at 7,200 rpm and torque of 644 Nm at 4,500 rpm. The XJ220 could accelerate from 060 mph (97 km/h) in 3.6 seconds and could attain a top speed of 212.3 mph (341.7 km/h). The interior was designed as a pure 2 seater and was trimmed in leather. Leather trimmed sports seats were fitted together with electric windows and electrically adjustable heated mirrors The dashboard unusually curves around into the drivers door, with a secondary instrument binnacle containing four analogue gauges, including a clock and voltmeter. They are now highly sought after and are destined to increase in value. They just dont build them like this any more. We think its a worthy nomination in our series. What do you think?

21.01.2022 Our latest candidate for most beautiful car in the world is very worthy. The 1960/63 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato was first shown at the 1960 London Motor Show. It was effectively a DB4 GT, lightened and improved by the Zagato factory in Italy, by Ercole Spada. The factory had planned to produce 25 cars, but demand was not as strong as expected and final production was reduced to just 20. The popularity of the original DB4 GT Zagato resulted in two subsequent waves of cars based on DB4s being rendered into "Zagatos" through the cooperation of Aston Martin and the Zagato works in Italy. They are known as "Sanction II" and "Sanction III" cars. The 20 original cars have proven to be very good investments too.

19.01.2022 Our next nomination for "most beautiful car ever made" may come as no surprise either. The Pininfarina designed Ferrari 275GTB/4 first appeared in 1964 and was constructed by Scaglietti, normally in steel with aluminium doors, bonnet, and boot lid, although a few examples received full aluminium bodies. It was the first standard Ferrari road car to be offered with a five speed gearbox and the first not-born for racing car to place the gearbox between the rear wheels. More n...otable still was that the axle was no longer rigid and suspended by leaf spring; the 275 GTB had fully independent double wishbone rear suspension. In 1967, Ferrari renamed the 275 to reflect its new four cam engine. It was an important evolution of Ferraris signature sports car that already had 4-wheel independent suspension and disc brakes. The 275 GTB/4 was the first production Ferrari to be fitted with the four overhead camshaft version of the V12. A 3.2 litre DOHC Colombo V-12 engine featuring six Weber carburettors, five-speed manual transmission, four-wheel upper and lower wishbone coil-spring independent suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes with approximately 300 horsepower.

15.01.2022 Our latest nomination for most beautiful car in the world...the Toyota 2000GT was a limited-production, front-engine, rear-wheel-drive, two-seat, hardtop coup grand tourer designed by Toyota in collaboration with Yamaha. First displayed to the public at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1965, the 2000GT was manufactured under contract by Yamaha between 1967 and 1970. The 2000GT revolutionized the automotive worlds view of Japan, then viewed as a producer of imitative vehicles. As a ...sleek, high-performance fastback, it demonstrated its auto makers could produce a sports car to rival the better marques of Europe. Reviewing a pre-production 2000GT in 1967, Road & Track magazine summed up the car as "one of the most exciting and enjoyable cars weve driven", and compared it favorably to the Porsche 911. Today, the 2000GT is seen as the first seriously collectible Japanese car and its first supercar. See more

14.01.2022 The annual "All Ford Day" in Geelong this year was cooler than last year and a little wet under foot however there was a good turn out of Falcons and Mustangs. Certainly the dominant badges represented agaim! Still, a gaggle of Ferrari and AC Cobra replica in Queenscliff provided some viewing variety whilst we enjoyed lunch at the distillery #allfordday #ford #geelong

13.01.2022 Our most beautiful car ever made nominations continue and again the Italians have given us a strong contender. The Alfa Romeo Montreal was produced from 1970 to 1977. A stylish coupe, the Montreal ran a V8 of 2593cc and pumped out 147Km at 6500 rpm. Standstill to 100 km/h was reached in 7.4 seconds on its way to its top speed of 224 km/h. Production was split between the Alfa Romeo plant in Arese and Carrozzeria Bertones plants in Caselle and Grugliasco outside Turin. Alfa... Romeo produced the chassis, engine and mechanicals and sent the chassis to Caselle where Bertone fitted the body. After body fitment, the car was sent to Grugliasco to be degreased, partly zinc coated, manually spray painted and have the interior fitted. Finally, the car was returned to Arese to have the engine and mechanicals installed. Who else but the Italians would build a car in this manner? Despite all of that, they produced a car worthy of inclusion in our considerations for most beautiful car. Do you agree? See more

11.01.2022 Perhaps another candidate for the most beautiful car ever made is this. Introduced in July 1963, the Aston Martin DB5 boasted a 4-litre engine, equipped with triple SU carburetors,. The engine produced 282 bhp at 5,500 rpm and was mated to a 4-speed/overdrive gearbox, a ZF 5-speed unit being made standard equipment later. The DB5s distinctive cowled headlamps had first appeared on the DB4GT, and the newcomer was the same size as the lengthened, Series V DB4. Outwardly there ...was little to distinguish the DB5 from the last of the DB4s, apart from twin fuel filler caps, although these had already appeared on some cars. Beneath the skin, however, there were numerous improvements, including alternator electrics, Girling disc brakes, tinted glass, electric windows and an oil-pressure gauge as standard equipment. Perhaps best known as the choice of car by Bond, James Bond, the AM DB5 still has the looks that one would die any day for.

10.01.2022 Is this not the most beautiful car in the world? But I bet you have never heard of it before. The Iso Grifo is a limited production grand tourer automobile manufactured by Italian Iso Autoveicoli S.p.A. between 1965 and 1974.Intended to compete with Ferrari and Maserati GTs, it used a series of American power trains and components supplied by Chevrolet and Ford to ensure performance and maximize reliability. Styling was by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Bertone, while the mechanicals were the work of Giotto Bizzarrini. The first production GL models appeared in 1965 and were powered by American Chevrolet Corvette small-block 327 (5.4-litre) V8s fitted to American supplied Borg-Warner 4-speed manual transmissions. The 5.4-litre engine developed 300 hp (220 kW) in its standard form and could reach 110 km/h (68 mph) in first gear

09.01.2022 You can probably see a trend in our nominations for the "most beautiful car ever made. Not only are they all stylish, but they are from a generation where automobiles were as much art as they were functional. Here we have the 1967 Maserati Ghilbi from 1966-73. The car was powered by a quad-cam 4,719 cc (4.7 L) dry sump V8 engine mated to a five-speed ZF manual transmission, with a three-speed automatic transmission being optional. The engine had a power output of 310 PS (228 kW). It had a 0-97 km/h (60 mph) time of 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). Impressive for its day, and worthy of inclusion in our list of desirable automobiles. The Italians certainly know how to design an object of beauty. Send us your nominations.

09.01.2022 Congratulations to Malcolm Wilson and the M-Sport Bentley Team on winning the Bathurst 12 Hour today! #bringthethunder #msportltd #bentley

09.01.2022 Perhaps the 1969 Lamborghini Miura can also challenge for the title as "the most beautiful car in the world"? Lamborghinis dream car was designed to directly oppose Ferraris race-ready, track-derived monsters. Wanting a higher level of refinement, Lamborghinis first car to roll off the assembly line was the 1963 350 GTV. The legendary Miura, arguably the worlds first supercar first appeared in 1966 at Geneva and it was met with rave reviews. 764 were made from 1969 through to 1973. Power was provided by a 3929cc V12.

06.01.2022 Lots of variety here today at the All Ford Day in Adelaide. Come down, the sun is out! #ford #msportltd #msrt #ranger #transit

05.01.2022 Our next candidate for "most beautiful car ever made is the Lamborghini Espada (which is Spanish for sword and refers to their bullfighting history). Designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone, Gandini drew inspiration and from two of his Bertone show cars from 1967, the Lamborghini Marzal and the Bertone Pirana. The Espada was equipped with a 3,929 cc (240 cu in) Lamborghini V12 engine, rated at 325 hp (242 kW; 330 PS) During its ten years in production the car underwent many changes, and three different series were produced from 1968 thru to 1978. Each model featured interior redesigns, minor mechanical improvements and minor exterior changes. 1,217 Espadas were made making it the most numerous and longest-running Lamborghini model until the expansion of Countach production in the mid-1980s. Would you like one in your garage?

04.01.2022 If you have ever wondered what goes on inside a rally car on a stage, l commend this short video featuring Craig Breen. Just marvel at the speed of thinking being turned into speed of driving. https://www.facebook.com/127662367852/posts/10157931550157853/

03.01.2022 Very sad news from the UK overnight with the passing of Russell Brookes, aged 74. Twice British Rally Championship - In 1977 with a Ford Escort RS1800 and 1985 with a Group B Opel Manta 400. One of the true Champions of rallying, when men were men, and cars were fast and sideways. Vale Russell.

02.01.2022 From Japan, comes our latest nominee for "most beautiful car ever made". The Datsun 240Z is the first generation of Z GT two-seat coupes, produced by Nissan Motors, Ltd. of Japan from 1969. One of the most successful sports car lines ever produced, the trend-setting 240Z was designed by a team led by Yoshihiko Matsuo, the head of Nissans Sports Car Styling Studio. Seeking to compete head-to-head with established European sports cars, the 240Zs sleek styling, modern engineer...ing, relatively low price, and impressive performance struck a major chord with the public. Positive response from both buyers and the motoring press was immediate, and dealers soon had long waiting lists for the "Z". As a "halo" car, the 240Z broadened the acceptance of Japanese car-makers beyond their econobox image. All variants of the Z have four-wheel independent suspension consisting of MacPherson struts in front (borrowed from the Nissan Laurel C30) and Chapman struts in back. Front disc brakes and rear drums were standard. The 240Z used twin SU-style Hitachi one-barrel side-draft carburettors. Engine: 2,393 cc (2.4 L; 146.0 cu in) L24 inline-six engine, cast iron block, alloy head, two valves per cylinder, seven-bearing crankshaft, Direct Acting OHC, compression ratio 9.0:1; Maximum recommended engine speed 7,000 rpm. Yoshihiko Matsuo, Designer of the Iconic Datsun 240Z, passed away this week aged 86. Yoshihiko Matsuo, lead designer of the iconic Datsun 240Z, passed away on July 11th 2020. He leave an amazing legacy in the .#240Z

01.01.2022 Next in our series, is arguably the most beautiful car ever made, the original Mk1 jaguar E-Type Fixed Head Coupe from 1964. In fact Enzo Ferrari himself, declared the E-Type as "the most beautiful car ever made". That in itself is the greatest applaud from the master of the iconic Italian sportscar maker. The E-Type was manufactured by Jaguar Cars Ltd between 1961 and 1975. Its combination of beauty, high performance, and competitive pricing established the model as an icon... of the motoring world. The E-Types claimed 150 mph top speed, sub-7-second 0 to 60 mph acceleration, unitary construction, disc brakes, rack-and-pinion steering, and independent front and rear suspension were design and engineering features that set this car above the ordinary. The E-Type was based on Jaguars D-Type racing car, which had won the 24 Hours of Le Mans three consecutive years beginning in 1955, and employed what was, for the early 1960s, a novel racing design principle, with a front subframe carrying the engine, front suspension and front bodywork bolted directly to the body tub. No ladder frame chassis, as was common at the time, was needed and as such the first cars weighed only 1315kg. The Mk 1 cars essentially fall into two categories: Those made between 1961 and 1964, which had 3.8-litre engines and partial synchromesh transmissions, and those made between 19651967, which increased engine size and torque by around 10% to 4.2 litres, added a fully synchronised transmission, and also provided new reclining seats, an alternator in place of the dynamo, an electrical system switched to negative earth, a more reliable brake servo, and other modern amenities. The body styling remained unchanged. As a result, the 4.2 litre Mk 1 has generally became the most valuable form of the car today and values continue to rise.
