24.01.2022 Updated 5:08pm Thank you to everyone who has already put their hand up! Keep it going all!

24.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS With the final round complete and after a fantastic evening back at the club on Saturday night, the H&A season is all wrapped up with results in and ladders finalised. Firstly, a huge CONGRATULATIONS to our Under 10 Juniors and LO3 C Grade Senior teams who finished the season on top of their respective ladders as Minor Premiers! What a fantastic achievement for not only those who contributed to each team, but also for the club!... That said, this coming weekend we will see our U14 & U16 Juniors and A, B and C Grade seniors play off in semi-finals. 5 out of 7 teams eligible to play finals is once again proof we are a formidable club in the Para District. Please remember, finals are played over both days (Saturday and Sunday) of each weekend. It would be awesome to see as many Seniors out supporting our Juniors in the mornings, and likewise, as many Junior Blasters, Under 10 and Under 12 players out and about supporting your club over the weekend. If you want to seal a finals berth, it is also critical that everyone gets out to training on Tuesday and Thursday this week. We will be putting our best teams forward and with more than enough players to fill three senior teams, there will be some who will regrettably miss out. That said: Under 14's finished 4th and will play Craigmore away at Argana Park from 8:30am Under 16's also finished 4th and will play Salisbury West Gold on the main oval at Salisbury West from 8:30am A's will play a replay of last years grand-final at home against Salisbury West. This time it's us who has the home ground advantage! B's will play away against Smithfield at Smithfield Oval, and C's also get a home ground advantage down at the school against Craigmore Good luck to all teams, Dream Big and see you out at training through the week.

22.01.2022 Hey everyone just a reminder the AFL grand final will be on at the club tonight after cricket and pizzas will be ordered for anyone wanting to hang around or come down.

20.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who contributed to clearing out all remaining canteen stock this evening and also for respecting the measures put in place to keep everyone socially distanced. Whilst it would have been fantastic to have had one last hoorah, the unfortunate nature of these unprecedented times means we must respect and maintain the health and well being of not only ourselves, but our families and the wider community. The committee will meet online in coming weeks to round... out the books, discuss options for how we conduct presentations and begin planning for next season. With the club in a strong financial position and initiatives being implemented by Playford City Council and AVSACA to reduce expenses for all clubs over the coming months, it is certain we will be back next season, stronger and more resilient than ever! We will keep you posted! On behalf of Club President Jim Richardson and the AVCC Committee, we thank all of our sponsors, players, members, supporters and volunteers for what was undoubtedly another fantastic and highly successful season. We wish you all the very best over the coming months, hope that you stay safe and healthy and once we know what the future holds, we look forward to seeing you all back at Angle Vale Cricket Club next season! Take care!

12.01.2022 A quick message from the Club Captain: This season is going to be different for a lot of reasons: Firstly, we are seeking applicants for captains in all Senior grades to see who is interested in a Leadership role. Please email the club ([email protected]) with your nominations and preferred grade (A-D) if you are interested.... Secondly, the committee and Senior Leaders have agreed B, C and D grade will only play a one day series this season. This is to assist with numbers, flexibility and administration. Finally, we need everyone to be proactive this season (particularly considering COVID). We would still like to nominate 4 Senior teams however, we can't do this without people registering. Please don't wait to be asked to come and play. Register as soon as possible so we can confirm numbers by the end of this month. All registrations need to be completed online via the below link. We know the Play Cricket platform is not ideal and Cricket Australia are developing a new platform next season. For now, we have to use the resources we have available. Any questions or issues with registration, don't hesitate to get in contact via email, phone, or messenger. Cheers

08.01.2022 PDCA Vs Mid North @ Tanunda Oval, Thursday 14/01/21. First junior Day/Night match at Tanunda Oval

07.01.2022 Published in the Two Wells Echo this week, our 10 & Under legends. Great work lads and good luck for the rest of the season!

07.01.2022 In presence of a quorum of the AVCC Committe, tonight we drew the winner of our 100 Club Fundraiser for Jonty. The winning square was 27, which was purchased by our very own Jane Pogas. In addition to the $1500 raised in support of Jonty, Jane has decided to donate her winning $500 back to the primary cause, with $2000 of generous support going to Jonty & Azaya.... Thankyou for your kindness Jane, and a huge thankyou to everyone's generosity in purchasing a ticket to support a very worthy cause!

07.01.2022 YOU BEAUTY!!! Fantastic news for ALL clubs who use the community facilities. Playford Council has tonight accepted Stage 5 of the AVSACA Master Plan. The project will deliver another cricket/footy oval, as well as extension of the soccer pitches, associated lighting and improved car parking. This has been a work in progress over a number of years and is a credit to the tireless efforts of AVSACA and our own Jane Pogas who currently presides the association. This is a huge win for our community and one which will allow all clubs to prosper in the future. A huge thanks to City of Playford and Playford Sports Network for their commitment in recognising and supporting our growing community needs.

06.01.2022 JUNIOR FORMAT UPDATE Wednesday night, PDCA in consultation with all Junior clubs in Para District unanimously voted on the following changes to Junior formats commencing this season: - "## and Under" age groups in lieu of "Under ##"... - 14/16 and Under will play a One Day 40 over 9-a-side format (20 overs per innings), and - Stage 3 Junior format rules for 14/16 and Under The primary reason for these changes is to align with the Australian community cricket pathways program and afford players a fun, inclusive and more enjoyable format of cricket where everyone gets to participate every week. It is envisaged this will encourage participants to keep engaged in age groups where traditionally, they become disenchanted and seek alternatives to playing our national summer sport. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN Some players from last season expecting to move up in age groups will remain in the same age group as last year. Your age on the 1st September will determine which age group you play in. Of course this can be negotiated with the club and coaches pending individual skill and availability in the next age group. While there are no changes to rules for 10/12 and Under age groups, Rules and By-Laws for the Stage 3 (14/16 and Under) formats and revised fixture will be released by PDCA before the season commences. Players can expect more opportunities to both bat and bowl each and every week. That in mind, we still have room for more players in all age groups. If you haven't registered yet, the registration link is below and if you have any mates/friends who would like to get involved, please encourage them to come be part of an award winning community club!

06.01.2022 Following our AGM on Tuesday night, AVCC would like to thank those who attended, nominated for and accepted positions on the committee for the upcoming season. Secretary - Jimmy Kelly Treasurer - Jon Pogas Committee Members Child Safety Officer - Nicole Young Canteen Coordinators - Dan Shaw & Jenny Dent Senior Registrar - Dan Shaw Junior Registrar - TBC Merchandise - Nicole Hartjes Grants & Sponsorship - Jane Pogas Fundraising - Chad Stone Events - Gary Case We would also like to acknowledge and sincerely thank Jim Richardson and Mick Carter for their respective tenures as President and Vice President over recent years. 04.01.2022 PLEASE READ - COVID-19 UPDATE In light of recent events and in the best interests of cricket participants and the wider community, PDCA on advice from Cricket Australia and SACA, have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the season. This includes Semi & Grand Finals, with all presentations postponed to a later date (TBC). As a result, all training and club activities are IMMEDIATELY SUSPENDED until further notice. Pending further advice from PD...CA, this will likely mean our season will be completed with details regarding premierships and presentations to be communicated in due course. We are in unprecedented times and this decision does not come lightly. We will provide further updates as they become available. Apologies for any inconvenience and thank-you for your understanding The Committee Angle Vale Cricket Club

02.01.2022 SACA u16 Rep Carnival - PDCA Vs Mid North, live from Tanunda https://youtu.be/lhEieaGjus0

01.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We trust you are all keeping safe and well as the community starts to emerge from what has been a confronting few months. After an abrupt end to season 19/20, things have been quietly ticking away in the background as we start to consider what the future of cricket might look like in a post COVID-19 environment. Noting Cricket Australia's latest update, it is evident there will be a number of changes for what the future of cricket looks like, including how and wh...en next season commences. Whilst normally we would have held our Annual General Meeting by the end of May and in considering the uncertainties, it is imperative we await the guidance of our parent authorities and associations before reconvening and considering the season ahead. CA has indicated a range of checklists, protocols and other resources will be available early next month to support associations, clubs and volunteers. Once this information is provided, the committee will be in a better position to reconvene and commence planning for next season. More information on CA's COVID-19 update can be found at https://www.community.cricket.com.au//policies/covid-19-faq In the interim we ask for your patience and understanding. With so much uncertainty, it is essential we apply due diligence to mitigate any risk to the club, the safety of our players and the well being of the wider community. If you have any questions or wish to contribute to making the next season a success, please feel free to comment below, message us privately or email us at [email protected] Keep well and stay tuned for further updates in coming weeks. Regards AVCC Committee

01.01.2022 Check out this bunch future cricketing superstars for AVCC! Our 10 & Under squad had their first hit out last night against Eyre Royals at home.
