20.01.2022 Congratulations to Ambulance Victoria (AV) Air Ambulance Pilot Heath Scanlon, Aircrewman Rick Davies and MICA Flight Paramedic Mathew Hadden who have been awarded the 2020 Group Meritorious Award by Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA). The award was presented at SLSA’s virtual National Awards of Excellence on 7 November 2020 for their brave surf rescue on 21 April 2019. Meritorious Awards are given to recognise the outstanding deeds of bravery performed during SLSA’s lifesavin...g operations. SLSA President Graham Ford AM noted the meritorious award is an outstanding accolade, which they undoubtedly deserve. 15.01.2022 Babcock crew from our Rockhampton base have been supporting RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service (Official Site) by dropping in to visit local schools. The visits included a helicopter landing, tours of the helicopter and questions and answers with the students. Providing an insight into the rescue helicopter service, the visits also emphasised the importance of road safety and responsibility as part the RACQ Streets Ahead Program.
