I'm lucky enough to be married to a wonderful photographer and so we have heaps of great shots of our kids to enjoy when we're very old and grey. 17.01.2022 Had Sunrise on in the background this morning and saw at one stage the CashCow (person dressed up in cow costume) at someone's house and then a short while later sitting in the studio with the team. I thought 'oh how did the cow get back to the studio so quickly?'....Hmm ahhh maybe they have multiple cow costumes and anyone can be the cashcow?!! I am a muppet.

16.01.2022 No this great #babybrain story was not me, but I can absolutely imagine myself doing something like this. The poor work colleagues... I'm at work and begin to notice a horrible smell each time I turn my head. I sniff around a bit, trying to locate the source of this putrid smell. As I turn my head, a few strands of my hair fall over my shoulder... and now I know where the smell is coming from. My own head!! A moment of disbelief gives way to the sudden realisation that in the morning rush to get family up, dressed and out of the house, I had reached for my non-aerosol hairspray and instead grabbed the bug repellant! Yuk!

15.01.2022 Our gorgeous boy turned 4 on Sunday so we decide to take him to the always awesome Taronga Zoo. When we scan our season passes, the attendant comments that we should make sure to grab little D a birthday badge later on our way out. So as we are leaving, I remember to go to the Information desk where a lovely lady passes me the birthday badge. We walk away with it and as I go to hand it to D, it is only then that I see somebody has scrawled some large numbers across it in neo...n yellow. Thinking I had been handed a second-hand copy or something, I return to the desk and ask what the numbers are? She looks at me with an expression that seems torn between disbelief and pity (you know that look??) She says: "Err.. that's today's date, and therefore the date of your son's birthday'" "Yes, yes of course, silly me, don't know what I was thinking". I quickly shuffle off, embarrassed and trying hard to ignore little D's questions about why we had gone back to the lady. Doh! See more

14.01.2022 I've contributed many stories to the site over the last few years, but few that left me wanting to crawl into a hole and hide quite like this one did. A good friend came over for dinner just before Xmas and very thoughtfully she had brought a gift for my 3yr old who she adores. We had dinner and then a few hours later she was leaving to head home and as is usually the case we were still jamming conversation into her parting steps and making plans for her next visit. I thought... to thank her again for her generous gift for my son but then in the same breath I somehow blurted out "Oh, and what about Freddie's gift?". The look of awkwardness on my friend's face as she confessed she hadn't bought a gift for our baby brought an uncomfortable silence. She squirmed at the revelation and after a few seconds we all erupted in laughter... and from there it was me who looked awkward as I realised my gaff. See more

13.01.2022 It's been a while. What can I say, life is hectic! Continue reading for a giggle :) Mums. How valuable is time in our busy lives. What would you do with 40 minutes to spare? Well... I badly needed to mask some grey hair and since I normally do it myself (sooo much cheaper), I thought I'd use my 40 minutes to get the job done. This latest occasion, I get the product ready and start applying. A few minutes in and I'm not experiencing the usual putrid chemical fumes or seeing... the dark brown colour in my hair. However, I continue, thinking it must just be the way this product works (I'd bought a new brand). Twenty minutes later, still no sign of colour! Standard next step is for helpful hubby to remove any dye that's leeched onto my skin behind my neck, but he states that I've done a great job as there isn't any to be found. I begin to think 'hmmm this just doesn't seem normal" but again I continue, hoping my hair will change colour when I apply water to it in the shower. So in I jump, wash out the product and go to apply the conditioner. Now comes the putrid chemical smell of hair colour I had expected earlier! Arrrgggh! Yep, you guessed it... I'd used the conditioner first and now my precious 40 minutes was up... hair still speckled with grey and now there's no time to fix it. 10.01.2022 So I kind of almost gave my poor hubby heart failure last night. He was giving the boys a bath and I casually wandered in and put a positive pregnancy test under his nose and said "look honey" I caught sight of the blood drained from his face and a look of panic! I should have followed up much sooner with "remember this". It was the pregnancy test from our 7 month munchkin. The poor thing. It began with sitting on the floor picking nits out of our 4 yr olds hair, followed by applying the glorious smelling nit treatment, followed by doing my own nit treatment (just incase!), and finally topped off with receiving a full frontal vomit from our 1 yr old poppet. #winning #sonotglamorous #parenthumor #nighttimehavoc #babybrainhumour #humour
