25.01.2022 One of the best bars in Nambour is re-opening after the shut down. Run by great people with a great atmosphere. Get a beer, get some food.

25.01.2022 So..... when we had the shop front, there was a guy who'd come in nearly every Saturday and say that all the records we had sucked and we should get in good stuff. Guy was a real punisher, but also a pretty loved part of the gallery of characters that would frequent the shop. Anyway after one session of him telling us how crappy we were, I said mate why don't you make a record that's good, instead of just being a pest. He said Fuck you, I will. So a few weeks later old mate c...omes in with a pile of tapes for his one man band Clone Mutant. And it was actually killer. (Link in comments to listen to this....dare I say it...masterpiece). He'd also listed it as Bad Habit records number 1. So a label was born. Anyway, Clone Mutant morphed into a real band with more then one person. And changed their name to Drongo. And they are in the process of making a new demo, and they've made a YouTube ad for it. It really begs more questions then it answers. So in the next few days we are gonna ask Fletcher, ground zero of Clone Mutant, now king Drongo what is even going on. Here's the "commercial". See more

25.01.2022 The Beatles of underground music.

25.01.2022 Heres some words, photos and flyers related to the Brisbane band Drunk With Power. Been posting old photos on the Bad Habit instagram, and that prompted asking Kp write the low down on DWP. Before these things get forgotten in the mists of time. Take it away kp--------Things are a tad hazy but i'm pretty sure it was sometime in 2006 that 4 misfit Brizzy based fellas came together over some cheap beers and Disclose at full fuckin' volume. At the time Brisbane's d-beatless scen...e needed some fuckin' d-beat, so with Damo Noisewar and Decibel's blessings Brett quickly learned to d-beat while Mikel and Les (Dogsled) wrote riffs.'Chinatown Butcher' was born. For a short while rehearsals were in the then derelict back room downstairs in the infamous TigersHaus (West End) but before long the boys in blue shut us down. Yep, the fuckin' yuppies had started to move in to the area (mind you financial pressures saw us return to the space regardless later on). A handful of local shows later (at the likes of SlaughterHaus, Rosies, Hotel Broadway, Fat Louie's and Ahimsa House to name a few) and with a name change to 'Drunk with Power', we entered NastyStudio in West End and for a couple hundred $ recorded a raw 7 track demo. A cheap bottle of Vodka then paid for a final mix done by one of Dogsleds mates. That was mid 2007; this demo has still not seen the light of day! Although Bo had jumped in on 2nd guitar and our sound had ventured into more of a blackened direction that saw numbers grow steadily at our shows, our inability to agree on a suitable format for the demo continued to dog us. Additionally, this new sound had us floating somewhat uncomfortably between the metal and punk scenes and so came confusion and the eventual demise of what is still one of my favourite bands to have been involved with. Thanks and apologies to Rudy Blastwork (Malaysia) for the support and intention to release the demo and a mega yeah mate to the other DWP members. From birth till death. kp See more

19.01.2022 New Swifty song. He played a bunch of Bad Habit shows for us, and is now sharing stages with the best Australian rappers. Have a listen. Guys a legend.

19.01.2022 Arrest records have been supporting Australian and international underground music for years. With the recent Corona virus issues his normal work has slowed right down. Go and help him out and buy some records!!! Any help is appreciated. I am out of work as the government shut down my only income source. I know the ripple affect will be huge. I have a webstore with many items that if you can afford will help me a little. Also I have a large trailer and van to move anything anywhere. Plus by trade am a carpenter so if there is any need I can fill and help me get through this period to get back to what we do best in entertaining you. https://arrestrecordsaustralia.bigcartel.com

18.01.2022 Happy Edge Day for yesterday for all our straight edge sisters and brothers. Have a listen to what is possibly the most unhinged, angry, straight edge song ever written?

17.01.2022 Noosa Temple of Satan is raising money to deliver a message behind a plane over the sunshine coast beaches. I can't stop laughing at the ridiculousness of it.

17.01.2022 Coalfalls have just put up a song! Named after the Ipswich City inner suburb they hail from, Coalfalls play dreamy shoegazey instrumental tunes. Really beautiful music.

16.01.2022 Probably the record of the year!

15.01.2022 Some footage from a show Bad Habit and Team Glasses put on at Two Tones, a car detailing workshop.. The band, Boundless, is playing in the spray booth.

13.01.2022 Back Beat records in Nambour have a really cool new shirt design. Go get one. And check out one of the best record shops at the same time.

10.01.2022 Johnny Cyrus and his Band of Ghost return to the live stage in Ipswich.

09.01.2022 Here's a write up about the art show put on by the legends at Straight outta Nambour. The Bad Habit P.A. was meant to be used to get the tunes cranking, however, in classic DIY style one vital cord had been lost in the move, so the extremely heavy and awkward P.A. lugged from one side of the coast to the other Sat in the corner, in silence. The art show was great though, and had the same feel, like the kids have taken over and locked all the parents in the basement, that the Bad Habit in-stores had. It really bought a tear to my eye being at something like this. Even though I only knew a few people there, it felt like these where my people.

09.01.2022 Our mates at Team Glasses have just put out a Cnt Evn tape. Great keyboard based punk.

08.01.2022 Youth of Today meet GG Allin.

08.01.2022 RIp Ron Cobb. His work, both in movie design and his political stuff had a deep impact and influence on us. A true multifaceted icon.

07.01.2022 Nice review of a Lil Peep doco by one of our fav music maniacs Lance Sinclair. Talks about the movie, but also touches on alot of aspects of a modern accelerating music culture.

06.01.2022 We're devastated to hear of the passing of Will Andersen. A kind soul and talented artist, Will reached out to us after finding a copy of Ipswich Underground and was a keen supporter and contributor, and regular visitor to Bad Habit Record Bar. Our thoughts are with Will's family and close friends
