16.01.2022 Covid 19 UPDATE. Here at BMC we are slowly getting back to normal but we still have strict protocols in place to make sure our community is looked after. We encourage everyone to attend to their health and come in to the practice, all possible measures are being taken to keep everyone safe. BMC patients need to phone for an appointment on 66871079 where our friendly staff will assist you. ... Please let receptionist staff know if you have a cough, cold, sore throat or fever as you might need advice about testing for Covid19. We now have CV-19 testing on site, next door at S&N Pathology. Our Doctors can provide you with a Pathology Form for testing. We will let you know whether you should enter the medical centre or wait outside for staff to come and attend to you. You will need to be assessed as to whether you need testing for Covid19. Anyone who feels they have a severe respiratory illness should attend an emergency department.

04.01.2022 While investigations are underway, NSW Health urges anyone who has attended the affected venues in Sydney or Victoria to watch for respiratory symptoms or fever, and if they occur, isolate and get tested for COVID-19 right away. It’s essential that we all take the risk of transmission very seriously and take steps to protect ourselves and loved ones: If you have even mild symptoms, a cold or cough, get tested and stay home until you’re cleared.... Keep your distance from others at all times even if you are well. If you have been to Victoria, don’t mix with other people until two weeks has passed. Please visit https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates to read about cases in our area.

01.01.2022 We are excited to welcome Dr Steve Middleton back to BMC. Some patients may remember Steve from Bangalow Medical Centre, where he had a long-term rural GP placement as a medical student. GP and former Physiotherapist Steve brings a passion for patient care as well as for the local community to BMC. He is an accomplished sportsman, has a Master of Physiotherapy from Sydney University as well as a medical degree. ... In our local area, Steve has worked in the Emergency Department at Byron Central Hospital and Lismore Base Hospital. Steve is a Rural Generalist with training in Emergency Medicine. His breadth of experience spans Radiology, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Urology and Palliative Care and, in 2017, he was awarded Resident Doctor of the Year. More broadly Steve has worked as a Doctor in a remote fishing village in Ghana, West Africa. While his work background is diverse, it reflects his interest in the performance and care of the human body. As well as being a skilled medical practitioner, Steve has received long service medals from NSW Fire & Rescue, taught Pilates, worked as a ski instructor and served as a lifeguard. Steve plays AFL for the Byron Bay Magpies, competes in boardriding events and previously competed in ironman championships. Steve is also the offical Doctor for the Byron Bay Red Devils Rugby League Club. - Steves interests in medicine: o Sports and musco-skeletal medicine o General medicine o Chronic disease management o Sexual health o Nutrition and weight loss
