11.01.2022 Shearing season is here! It is such a BIG job and doesn’t get any easier, no matter how many years of alpaca farm you have under your belt! Thank goodness shearing is made easier with modern technology and some professional help! ... But alpacas are much more difficult to shear than sheep, and the process takes time to ensure both care for the animal and maximum value can be achieved from each fleece. Will share posts along the way, so you can all keep appraised of how the job gets done and then what we do with the previous suri alpaca fibre :) #shearingseason #alpacas

06.01.2022 A shy new baby watched over by mum and the herd. We love this time of the year with lots of youngsters being born. Still another 50-60 to be born on our farm over the coming months. Alpacas are a great livestock choice for our property, keeping the grass low and carefully looking after our soil structure with their padded feet.
