21.01.2022 I love this old cow! Dairy strength to the max, B Spungold Prince Rosette is out of my good old B Crown Rosette then Willow Park Dingo Rosette .... this isn’t her calf but I’m pretty sure she will calve tonight to the red Holstein bull Goal

19.01.2022 I’m so proud of this paddock, when I took over this farm 4 years ago it was full of weeds and was very under productive but through rotationally cropping it and appropriate fertilizer application it is now one of my most productive pastures

19.01.2022 Sometimes in farming with animals we as farmers can make mistakes that can unintentionally harm our precious animals, last week I was needling these two gorgeous girls ( because they were scouring )late at night and I did something I’ve never done before... I hit a nerve in both of their rumps which made it so their legs limp below the heel and they started walking on the front of the heel and so yesterday a wonderful vet from Timboon Vet Group came out and we set their legs in casts in order to fix their ligaments..... a costly mistake on my behalf but the girls will be ok and I will be much more careful next time

15.01.2022 Saving a good cow takes time and effort but they are more than just animals to me

14.01.2022 Yesterday I was honoured to be contacted by the Leadership Projects Coordinator at the National Farmers’ Federation. Currently, the NFF has teamed up with the ...Australian Rural Leadership Foundation (ARLF) to deliver the Drought Resilience Leaders Mentoring Program as part of the Future Drought Fund. With this partnership, they are helping to deliver an eight-part webinar series which will explore what it takes to make Australian rural communities resilient. The NFF is hosting the second webinar, Inclusion and diversity why there is a place for everyone in agriculture and have approached me to see if i would be interested in participating in a panel discussion. Of course I said yes, as someone who has experienced drought and the isolating feelings that come along with that as well as homophobia and discrimination but also wonderful inclusion and positivity within my industry..I look forward to participating in this discussion via zoom and if I can provide people with a link to join in and watch I will. I think this is a very important initiative

10.01.2022 Within the Illawarra breed we have an open herd book and can use other red breeds from around the world to improve our breed.... although most of my matings are using Illawarra genetics I do also use milking shorthorn, Aussie red, German Angler and very very rarely red Holstein and this little girl is one of them....Baromi Goal Rosette x B S Prince Rosette ( MS ) x B Crown Rosette

10.01.2022 This year at Baromi we have an excess of lambs and so we have sold this little pure bred black Texel ewe lamb and we will be donating a full lamb to the lions club for the second prize in our Christmas raffle

09.01.2022 Can’t wait for this girl to calve ( not the best pic ) Glen Meadow Honeymoon.. one of half a dozen heifers I have entered into partnership with Barry and Rosey Warburton. 08.01.2022 I dont want to jinx myself but I’ve never had the cows in better condition, they are milking the best in years, my cell count is at its lowest in 5 years and I still haven’t fed any silage and it’s mid January

03.01.2022 Baromi Legal American Girl, not a show champion but just a cracking good cow, a month off dry off she gets in calf first joining every time and pays the bills.... with over 85 legal daughters milking, she is an example of a vindication in me using over 400 doses of legal over the years, there is barely a cow in the herd who isn’t either a legal herself or a daughter of a legal

03.01.2022 At Baromi the bottom 5% of cows are joined to beef and the top 10% are joined to sexed semen
