At B Lab, we are thinking about what we can do to show solidarity to #blacklivesmatter movements today. Were also thinking about our commitment to dismantling white supremacy for the long haul. Weve been inspired by voices around the world as they speak on their continued commitment to anti-racism. Theyve pushed us to think about how we turn this moment into a sustained movement...: Set up a recurring donation and pay the rent to a First Nations grassroots organisation Keep reading and learning. Add anti-racism writing to your book list or start a book club. Accountability buddies are a great way to keep on track and for talking about your learning. Create space for personal reflection. What are you noticing? How do you feel? Do you see things differently? What conversations have you had about race and privilege? What actions are you taking, as an individual or a business? The events unfolding in the U.S. over the past week have been a sobering reminder of the similar racism and injustices in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. We stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, as well as with First Nations people in our region. We encourage anyone who is not familiar with the systemic racism experienced by First Nations and Maori peoples to seek out resources and becom...e familiar with the ongoing impact of our nations histories. We must also recognise that these injustices continue today. Solidarity requires action.
