23.01.2022 Today we have received some great news! Our full coaching program is able to recommence. All social distancing rules and hygiene practises will still apply. From Monday the 25th of May (when all school resumes) we will recommence all of our lessons and we will use this week coming to organise every session so they are ready to go! We will be in contact with you via text/email/Facebook moving forward to ensure the restart will go as smooth as possible. We are beyond excited to get back out on court and cannot wait to see all our little tennis superstars again.

23.01.2022 With the recent updated guidelines given by Prime Minister Scott Morrison we are able to continue our sessions as only the sporting programs conducted indoors have been suspended. The safety of players, spectators and staff is our top priority right now which is why we have already implemented the following procedures into our programs: Increased disinfecting and cleaning of equipment Encouraging our community to uphold the highest standard of hygiene... If you or your children are unwell, please do not attend our sessions No handshakes, high fives or fist bumps Minimising all physical contact with participants More emphasis on spacing of participants whilst on court Along with these precautions we are also introducing the following: Limit the amount of time you spend at tennis before and after your session We are discouraging all elderly and vulnerable family members from attending sessions Where possible bring your own equipment If you stay to watch the session please be aware of and maintain the social distancing rules We will no longer mark the role before class. As sessions start participants will head straight to their regular coaching court We will further increase the reinforcement of social distancing for players on court We will be staying open until we feel it is unsafe to continue or if we are advised to stop by governing authorities and professionals. We will be making daily changes if necessary to continue with sessions for as long as possible and we ask for your support during this time.

21.01.2022 Just a quick little update for our tennis family! Hopefully we will have some good news soon regarding a start date and return to group coaching. We are currently seeking further clarification on the different restriction stages, so watch this space for more updates! In the meantime we are able to run 1 on 1 private lessons and we have availabilities in both Rockhampton and Yeppoon. Send a message if you are wanting to book in for a private lesson

20.01.2022 ROCKHAMPTON THURSDAY & FRIDAY LOCATION CHANGE There is a large tournament being held at the Victoria Park complex Thursday-Sunday this week so all sessions on Thursday and Friday are being moved the Athelstane Tennis Complex which is located at 107 Ward St, The Range. Attached is a photo with a square around the courts in relation to the Mater Hospital and the Botanic Gardens/Zoo to give you a couple of reference points for location. Entrance to the complex is off Ward St. ... Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but unfortunately we did not have any other choice with no courts available at Victoria Park.

17.01.2022 Special shoutout to Isabella for making the Queensland Secondary School Team, 1 of only 3 players from the Capricornia Team to make it! Well done to Lacey for also representing Beak’s Tennis at the trials only narrowly missing out this year!

15.01.2022 All coaching and pick ups will continue as per normal unless we are otherwise instructed by Tennis Australia or any other governing body. Anyone unwell is advised not to attend our tennis programs (this is our standard policy but just a reminder) to help fight the spread of any sickness. We want tennis to be a safe and clean place for our players, spectators and staff so if we can all be proactive in maintaining a high standard of hygiene that will be greatly appreciated!

12.01.2022 Yesterday there was some great news from the Premier allowing 20 people to participate in sporting activities together. Unfortunately because we frequently exceed this number (and that’s before including other court hire use and social play) we cannot resume our group coaching just yet. It does however mean we are one step closer! Tennis Queensland has applied for an exemption to allow for a greater number of people to attend tennis facilities, as the size of the complex means we can easily accommodate more people and still have plenty of space for social distancing. However, at the moment we cannot gain access to the courts for group coaching until the restrictions have eased to Stage 3. Hopefully with Stage 2 being lifted earlier than planned, the same will also happen for Stage 3 and we will be back on courts for Term 3.

07.01.2022 Unfortunately there has been a revision and tightening to the restrictions that govern our program effective immediately. This means all of our group sessions will be placed on hold and will no longer be returning on the 25th of May as planned. We were so excited to be getting back on court and seeing all of our amazing kids, but we are taking the new advise on board and will follow the recommendations that have been put in place. We will keep you updated as soon as we hear more, so please check our page moving forward and hopefully we will be in touch soon with good news soon.

07.01.2022 It is with a very heavy heart we wish to inform you that today, Wednesday 25th March will be our last day of coaching until the current situation has settled down and it is safe to return to the court. The safety of our members, staff and the greater community is our top priority and we are taking action to help stop the spread of COVID-19. On behalf of Robert and all of the staff at Beak’s Tennis, we thank all of our members for your support during this time and hopefully your continued support when we are able to start back up again.
