02.01.2022 Functional breathing for optimal health This month I went to a two-day breathing course. I was surprised to learn that 90% of us are dysfunctional breathers. Functional breathing is through the nose, in the diaphragm, gentle and silent. If you breathe this way during the day, you breathe this way at night. Over breathing through the mouth leads to low oxygen quality with insufficient carbon dioxide which is needed to maintain smooth muscle, transport oxygen to the tissues and... maintain the right pH level in the blood.
