24.01.2022 Rise seems like an appropriate filter choice for Easter Sunday. Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend

24.01.2022 Level 2 Restrictions You may have heard that as of Tuesday the 28th of April the government will relax some of the restrictions on the provision of dental services. While this is welcome and a necessary step in the right direction it does not equate to a huge change in what we can do. It does give us more diagnostic flexibility but we are still unable to carry out any aerosol generating procedures, unless under rubber dam, therefore treatment options remain limited. We will continue to provide an emergency service and are always contactable during normal office hours. Should we not answer straight away we will call you back. We will be closed over the long weekend and reopen at 8am on Tuesday the 28th.

24.01.2022 Its easy for us to get behind the World No Tobacco Day campaign but we understand its maybe not so easy to give up. If you are concerned about your health and want to stop smoking call Quitline on 13 78 48 or visit their website.

24.01.2022 We are really missing Crown Preps . Please be advised that patients with outstanding treatment will be called back as a priority when COVID-19 dental restrictions have been lifted. . We thank you for your patience and if you have a dental emergency please call us on 0892773837 or via our website or social media channels.... #stayhome #staysafe #belmontisok #inthistogether See more

23.01.2022 Last Easter post for the long weekend but its too cute not to share. Credit to @artnutz for creating it and Dr Kathryn Handicott for sharing it with us and to the dentist or endodontist who did such a beautiful root canal treatment in the first place. See, root canals are not scary!

23.01.2022 Apologies for being a bit quiet on the social media front, weve been busy playing catch-up after the COVID closure We are currently operating pretty much as normal with a few additional safety measures in place and as always are happy to answer any dental questions here or over the phone. In the meantime sit back and enjoy the show, its guaranteed to bring a smile to your face

22.01.2022 BRUXISM is the term used for people who grind or clench there teeth. It could be during the day or in your sleep, so you may or may not know you are doing it. These images clearly show the effects on your teeth over a period of time in a patient who is a bruxist. The teeth are shorter, appear flatter. They may also be sensitive, this is caused by abfraction; where the enamel on the cheek side of the tooth starts chip/wear away due to the stress on the tooth. Check out the ima...ges over on our Instagram page Belmont Dental Surgery today for information on how to best manage Bruxism. #smilesbetter #belmontdentalsurgery #perthdentist #belmontisok

22.01.2022 As many will already know, because weve postponed your long awaited appointments , Beth was due to return to work in April. Along with the rest of the team she is ready to get straight back to work when restrictions are lifted and we will keep you posted. In the meantime shes happy hanging out at home with these two cuties, and who could blame her Ben and Phil are still covering emergencies at the practice but otherwise we encourage everyone to #staysafestayhome

22.01.2022 It’s World Cavity Free Future Day, take some easy steps to reduce the occurrence of dental decay. Brush twice a day, floss once a day, keep an eye on your sugar intake and drink fluoridated tap water

21.01.2022 How much sugar is too much sugar? If you are purchasing processed foods look at the sugar content per 100g serving if its more than 15g you should consider looking for an alternative with a lower sugar content. Ideally, look for food and drinks with less than 5g per 100g. #belmontdentalsurgery #smilesbetter #belmontisok #perthdentist #dentalhealthweek2020

19.01.2022 Hope you are getting the chance to chill this long weekend We are back to work tomorrow at 8am and we still have a few appointments next week available via our website (link in bio).

18.01.2022 Dental practices around Australia are now operating at Level 1 restrictions. This makes it much easier for us to look after your dental needs. We take infection control very seriously and all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are in place. Please help us to help you by staying away from the practice if you have a fever or respiratory symptoms. We are more than happy to discuss your dental needs on the telephone. Currently we will still request that you wait in your car until called in for your appointment to maintain social distancing in the waiting room. We look forward to seeing you

18.01.2022 Hello, from our socially distanced, under-employed dental team! Still seeing emergencies and awaiting guidance regarding a return to normal services. In the meantime, please contact us if you have any dental questions and stay safe :-)

17.01.2022 This is womens health week in Australia and the Australian Dental Association are contributing by sharing information and attempting to dispel some of the myths around oral health during pregnancy.

16.01.2022 It’s 20 years today since Ben saw his first patients at Belmont Dental Surgery. The first thing to say is a big thank you to all of you who have supported us over the years, it is much appreciated Some things like the building have changed dramatically others have stayed the same. The team in all it’s configurations have worked, laughed, cried, danced, bowled, walked, talked, travelled, learned, played music and eaten together. Especially eaten, we’ve always done a lot of ...that From the day Ben signed on the dotted line to the slice of celebratory cake at lunchtime today. There have undoubtedly been some stressful times, but mainly there have always been a lot of laughs and smiles, and that’s the important bit Thanks to everyone who has been part of the last 20 years, patients, colleagues, family, friends, technicians, tradies and suppliers the list goes on.

16.01.2022 What they said

15.01.2022 Its Dental Health Week 3-9 August and along with the ADA we are encouraging everyone to become more sugar savvy. We have said before that we are no strangers to sugar at Belmont Dental Surgery, we love cake and chocolate as a treat. At the same time we are conscious of the hidden sugars that can sneak into our shopping trolleys. This week we shall be sharing a series of links to the Sugar Savvy audio files which are designed to raise awareness of the effects of sugar on t...ooth decay and to help us avoid it. https://soundcloud.com/user-888488672/tooth-decay-and-sugar We always welcome any oral health related questions, so please do not hesitate to contact Belmont Dental Surgery on 0892773837 or via Facebook or Instagram. #belmontdentalsurgery #smilesbetter #dentalhealthweek2020 #belmontisok

15.01.2022 We agree. If your gums are bleeding it is time to make a dental appointment, but in the meantime dont stop brushing. While it is tempting to think you should stop that is likely to make the problem worse. Do you have any questions about gum disease? Ask away?

15.01.2022 We have a new team member, meet Hif He’s settling in nicely since his arrival on Friday. He’s in good hands here @hif_australia we love a cute pooch

14.01.2022 R U OK? You dont have to be an expert to keep the conversation going when someone says theyre not OK. By knowing what to say you can help someone feel supported and access appropriate help long before theyre in crisis, which could change, or even save, their life. 12.01.2022 Great show on the ABC last night and available now on iview. A very realistic portrayal of day to day dentistry and lots of helpful and important information throughout. Loved the fact they stressed the importance of a preventative approach and the impact that can have, not just on your oral health but on your overall health ... Did you watch? What are your thoughts on the show?

11.01.2022 Lest we forget...

11.01.2022 The ADA has updated the information on its website regarding dental treatment during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please feel free to share this information, avoiding unnecessary dental or medical appointments contributes to flattening the curve. We are still available for telephone advice if you have any dental queries. We can also see patients who are in need of urgent or emergency dental treatment which fits the criteria set by the AHPCC (Australian Health Protection Principal Committee) and the ADA (Australian Dental Association). If you are unsure please call us

07.01.2022 We love this article published in The Conversation. The dental hygiene practices which you engage in at home are super important just now while we are still operating under restrictions due to COVID-19. Have a look and see how you measure up to these recommendations. If you read it and it raises some questions please feel free to ask for some advice

07.01.2022 The sun is setting on Dr Beth Winnan’s time at Belmont Dental Surgery. After seven years with us she is heading to a new position in Fremantle at the end of the year. We understand this will be a big change for many of our patients but Ben, Phil and Kathryn will all be around to provide continuing care and we are happy, as always, to forward records where necessary. We all wish Beth well and look forward to celebrating a great 7 years at our Christmas night out. Cheers Beth

07.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day to all the Mums and mother figures out there, hope you are all having a lovely weekend These are Forget-Me-Nots from Gillians mums garden in the UK. They seem appropriate on a day when its maybe not so easy to get together with our Mums as normal.
