Bev has been an absolute pillar of the local Berkeley community and has seen our patients and practice family through all of life's challenges and triumphs. Bev has recently made the heart-breaking decision to finally transition into retirement but she leaves behind a legacy of excellence in General Practice Nursing and... a will be sorely missed. You might still spot Bev in the surgery from time to time as she continues to mentor and support our team of General Practice Nurses and Doctors, so feel free to say hello and let Bev know just how appreciated she is. 14.01.2022 No... it's not the Brady Bunch. It's your friendly "Berkeley Bunch" of GPs here at the Illawarra Medical Services! Even though we are doing things a little differently now due to Covid-19, we're still very much open for buisiness! Feel free to call our front desk team (02 42711 899) or head over to our website (http://www.imsberkeley.com.au/) to book for a phone or video-chat appointment with one of our GPs. All of our GPs are working here in the clinic still, but some da...ys you might even get a call from them in their own home office (hoorah for comfy pants and work from home arrangements!). We do have a small number of face-to-face appointments still available for urgent issues requiring your presence in the clinic, but everything else can actually be managed quite well over the phone. We are also still taking appointments for flu vaccinations with team of practice nurses. We are also still open on Saturdays and Sundays 8am-12pm. This used to be our weekend urgent "walk-in" clinic, but now we are doing a weekend "call-in" clinic. There's no need for you to come down in person on the weekend, just give us a call from 8am onwards and we will schedule the duty doctor for the day to call you back as soon as they can. Once again, thankyou all for your patience and cooperation during this unprecedented time of the pandemic. We're all working together to keep our team, our families, and our whole Illawarra community safe. 06.01.2022 VIDEO CONSULTS NOW AVAILABLE! (BULK-BILLED!) Our GPs have now started to use Health Direct Video to be able to conduct our consults. For may patients this may be safer than a face-to-face consult right now, and there are many advantages for both the patient and doctor of being able to see eachother via video-link. No special app is needed. Your doctor will simply send (via email or sms to your phone or PC) you a web-link to a private online waiting room and they will then... be able to connect directly with you when they are ready to start your appointment. If you are not eligible for the free vaccine, all adults and children 10 or over can get a flu vaccine at the chemist without the need for a prescription (for a fee - contact your local chemist for details and stock availability).
