10.01.2022 I think this was back in December 2019. Caught this snapper near Peak in Sydney. The jig was $5 one from Kmart. You dont really need $20 lure. In South Korea, many anglers catch good snappers using this type of octopus jig. You get good Kingfish with this jig as well.

01.01.2022 For those who want to go fishing with your family, make sure you don’t do what I did! I chose to reel-in a Kingfish over saving my wife. Here is my long story ...if you are still interested. Like most of you, I am a crazy keen fisherman. I took my fishing rod on my honeymoon trip. We just fished there everyday. Nothing else. Since then, we continued to go fishing for 5 years. I think my 3 boys were 5 months old, 2 years old and 4 years old last time I went fishing with them. I had a Kingfish hooked up that was fighting hard. Unfortunately, my wife got hooked lightly on her hand and was seeking my help to release the hook as it was hurting her. It did not look like a serious injury to me. So I said, ‘Just wait a few seconds honey, Let me quickly reel-in and help you out.’ But it took longer than I thought as it was probably a meter sized King! She suddenly yelled, screamed loudly and asked me to take her back home. Yep. I lost the fish. And my fishing session was done. Since then my wife stopped going fishing with me. So did our kids until they grew up. Last Saturday, my kids surprisingly accepted my invitation on a fishing trip, and my oldest wanted to catch a Kingfish to take a picture of him holding a Kingfish. My mission was to catch a Kingfish. It was the most important customer, so I had to find a Kingfish for them to catch so that they can join me on a fishing trip more often. Pressure is on!! Luckily, I managed to find some good Kings. We lost a few big ones as we could not stop them. But we landed many good size Kingfish and kept four of them. It was my kids first Kingfish! Well done.
