08.01.2022 It was an exciting challenge to work on the HMAS Albatross building project in Nowra, NSW. Bimserve was commissioned to provide 3D coordinated models for all trades to ensure clashes are reduced to the minimum. In this task we took the sub-contractors 2D shop drawings, modelled them and carried out the services clash review and provided solutions to resolve these issues with all sub-contractors. We provided the mechanical contractor with their BIM workshop drawings / models complete with BIM fabrication files to enable direct cutting in the factory and digital hanger points for Trimble hanger set outs on site.

05.01.2022 Clash Review and Reports One of our core skills and main activities is the provision of an accurate clash review and report for a project. By using the most current 3D MEP modeling software (Autodesk MEP, Autodesk Revit MEP and CADMEP) in line with clash detection and management software Autodesk Navisworks Manage and BIM Track we are able to validate that our spatially coordinated MEP building services models are compliant with client’s specified/engineering standards. This process also allows us to point out installation tolerances and clearances required.

04.01.2022 What is BIM management? BIM management for projects is where our clients have already appointed the contractors or designers and require an independent company to manage the BIM process. This solution can vary depending on the BIM service level required, but first and foremost concentrates on managing the BIM modelling and BIM coordination process to ensure the documentation is clash-free to the tolerance required for the particular stage of the project and that the elements are constructible and intelligent to ensure model usage after drawings have been produced for installation maintenance.

01.01.2022 As part of the Williamtown RAAF upgrade we were commissioned to manage the services coordination process between all trades 3D models and deliver a site reviewed as built model with minimum data attributes added for various buildings on this site, with the main project being WE02. Coordination review of the design model, architectural and structural as well as the contractors was provided. Production of a project BIM outline report was produced and provided to the various project teams. Mechanical services modelling and shop drawings were also provided.
