25.01.2022 WATER FLOWS AT BOURKE A happy sight for locals at Bourke with the Darling River flowing over the town's weir. The Bourke Shire Council has switched to bore wat...er as a precaution due to concerns about the quality of the first flush that is coming through the system from the lower Namoi and Gwydir valleys. The water is expected to reach Louth before the end of the month and Menindee Lakes by late March. WaterNSW estimates as much as 50,000 megalitres will reach Menindee Lakes. Around 100,000 megalitres has passed through Walgett in just over a week. Mitch Davis
