Turn your park run into an official 5K at the RunACT ...5K This new event will feature an AIMS certified course on the cycling criterium circuit at Stromlo Forest Park. The event on Sat Jan 9 will feature Junior races over 1k, 2k and 3k followed by the Community 5K and an Elite 5K with each taking place over smooth and fast 1k lap. 01.01.2022 VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD Congratulations to Edward Fabian (Balmoral). Eddie is a current member of LAQ’s Competition Committee and his involvement and c...ommitment to the Competition area of LAQ has been immense. In the 2019 / 2020 season, he was the Competition Manager and Chairman of the Jury of Appeal at all LAQ Carnivals and Championships and co-ordinated the Handicap races at the Winter, Spring and Summer Carnivals. Eddie has been instrumental in the program development for all LAQ Carnivals and Championships. Not only did he create the programs for LAQ’s Combined Event Championships, Spring and Summer Carnivals, but he reviewed all the programs in the 2019 / 2020 season and made changes according to data and competitor numbers. Eddie is currently creating templates for our Centre and Regional programs. Eddie reviews and updates the McDonald’s Achievement Levels and created the Multi Class McDonald’s Achievement Levels. He also updates the State Championship qualifying standards and assisted with the creation of the LAQ Teams Event point system last season. In addition to all of the above, Eddie still regularly volunteers his time at his local Centre, Balmoral Little Athletics. Congratulations Eddie.
