11.01.2022 Happiness is a state we can self generate..... not really an answer to all our problems....That said, the process of generating happy moments can however, help us to focus on well being and to build skills by practicing activities that will in total, improve our level of health, contentment, effectiveness and positivity. So go pat a puppy and take a walk!

01.01.2022 I encounter a sense of disbelief when I talk to fellow Northern Beachers about the often unseen impact of poverty , isolation, family breakdown , homelessness ,... all in our own backyard. And soon when the reasonable safety net that the current jobseekler and jobkeeper represents begins to disappear....we will see a tsunami of ordinary people start to struggle to stay in affordable housing, to find shelter, food and health care etc. They will find that suddenly they have almost no way of getting these things peacefully. Friends... this coming flood of suffering is real and it will be bad....so many of us are just a couple of weeks away from being on the streets....You may not realise this, but there is not one single affordable 2 bed unit for rent on the Northern Beaches available for someone living on the previous jobseeker rate. So, like any real disaster , we will need to pull together and start looking to open up space for shelters, to design no cost health care options, to put in place food provision and to most of all find a way to help people keep some dignity when it feels like they are drowning in this flood. People who have lived on the beaches their whole life, Our friends , family , neighbours...they should be able to stay close to home, to stay in our community, even when times are tough and as I look around the Beaches at all we have ....I still see plenty of resources available, resources that can be shared.....if we care enough!
