23.01.2022 Its not just the bearings themselves that get rusty but also the bearing housing in the end shields that can suffer too. When we replace bearings and seals this is what we usually see when we first open them up. Over time the mechanical seal breaks and allows water to enter bit by bit resulting in what you see in these pictures. We strip away all the rust, and make everything look and feel as good as new before we put the new bearings back in place. When were done the motor sounds almost as good as new! If your pool pump sounds loud... this is probably why! Bring it into our store and well get it sounding new again

13.01.2022 Just had a customer in store Bridget (Owner) 40yrs experience tried sharing some Pump advice Customer shut her down talked over her. I have heard this heaps and this morning I decided to help Bridget out, he was just as dismissive to me and would not listen to advise. He then proceeded to explain all the things he had already done. I let him know none of that would help him he them approached the counter ignoring the X on the floor for Social distancing i then asked him to l...eave the store. He did after some huffing and puffing then proceeded to return in store to threaten bad reviews and used some fairly foul language again he was asked to leave. Unfortunately for small businesses there is almost nothing we can do for vindictive reviews Facebook/Google do not police them as they should. All the advice given to him this morning was to save him time and money and pointing him in the right direction but he didnt want to hear it. We are very grateful to all our loyal customers and we know small businesses can only survive with them 99% of customers value the advice given and we value them.

12.01.2022 Often we get asked about Calcium build up on pool surfaces and electrodes. Some areas in the state are worse than others for calcium in the water supply. But most comes from using Calcium Hypochlorite (Powdered Chlorine). If you have a Salt pool avoid using this at all cost it will damage your electrode add to calcium build up and can make the pool cloudy. If you find you need more chlorine make sure the Salt, PH and Stabilizer levels are correct first, then increase outp...ut and running time. In really high demand times (Summer) use either Tablet or Liquid Chlorine to help. As we are heading into winter this shouldnt be a problem and most pool running times can be reduced saving on power consumption and bleaching due to too much chlorine. 07.01.2022 Little tip for running your pool this winter we find 95% of water tests we do the chlorine level is really high, this may sound good but it can lead to bleaching of the pool colour. This cant be fixed easy and can end up looking terrible and needing attention costing $$$$. If you find your chlorine levels are really high the best option is to reduce the running time this will not only help lower chlorine but also save you $$$ on power.... Unsure just pop in with a water sample for a free test anytime.

07.01.2022 It’s really important to keep your pool balanced not just for a nice looking pool. Pool equipment can be damaged by chemical imbalances very low PH and Alkalini...ty can damage Pool Surface, Pool Blankets, Hoses, Baskets and Pool Lights it attacks the cable causing failures. As we just had happen on a pool this week both lights failed due to poor chemical Balance. Keeping the PH and Alkalinty is easy as popping in for a water test now and then and adding some Buffer. Saves money in the long run!
