25.01.2022 A bit of a landrover day to start with a defender with a leaking steering box also needed a pitman arm and steering damper

25.01.2022 We are always getting into the messy stuff to fix troublesome cars that roll in. We enjoy the challenge some cars provide but thinking outside the box and coupled with a lot of years experience that we can apply to many situations give us the upper edge. If you have a troublsome vehicle that you cant get clear diagnosis on bring it to us we will get it sorted. Diagnosis cost starts at $55.00 for a straight forward diagnosis. More invloved diagnosis 120.00. If we believe it is... more involved and that the cost will be higher we tell you before we start. Diagnostic scan is $95.00 and unlike other workshops if you have to return for further scans because the actual fault is not 100% clear the follow up scans are free. We mean business, we believe in providing the best possible service to you and we listen to you and we explain what we find in plain english. We explain to you the reasons we take the steps we do and welcome your input. Give us a call 07 54190544. See more

22.01.2022 On the left a cabin filter which looks like its never been changed. On the right the evaporator core out of the same car. Next is how we got it out. Lack of maintenance : ie a simple change of cabin filter can be a major contributing factor to a failed evaporator core. Keep your service person honest ask if the cabin fimter has been changed and ask to see the old one. Its a 5 minute job thats often neglected. New cabin filter for this car - $48.99 replace evaporator with a dash out scenrio approx $1500.00. Obviously even with regular filter replacements the evaporator can fail but if this helps avoid it why not?

22.01.2022 A very impressive visit to our workshop from Shannon Fentiman MP and Susan Lamb MP to meet our Apprentice Ben Wallis. Great opportunity to discuss Small Business opportu ities.

17.01.2022 There are not too many people driving a car who have not seen this warning light pop up on their dash at some point. This warning light will display if there is an issue with your battery charging circuit. If this light flickers on the dash whilst you are driving or stays on while you are driving you have an issue with your charge circuit. PLEASE DO NOT JUST GO AND BUY A NEW BATTERY. Doing this could be a huge waste of money because this is not telling you that your battery ...has failed. PLEASE GET YOUR VEHICLE CHECKED BY AN AUTO ELECTRICIAN TODAY! In the last week we have had several vehicle in where the owner has had this light come on, gone and bought a new battery and then found out that the fault was the alternator. Sadly it then becomes a "double wammie" with buying a new battery then having to replace the alternator. This fault does not always mean a faulty alternator, there could be a problem with the wiring in the circuit, or a failing alternator belt. But get it checked before replacing the battery. If it is the alternator and the battery is old, yes it can mean a new battery as well but in most cases the battery can be charged up. The colder weather we are coming into has historically shown to be the time when alternators, starter motors and batteries will fail so get things checked before replacing, at Bolands it will take a couple of minutes for a check that could save you hundreds of dollars in parts you dont need. We will load test your battery, and check your charge rate and advise from there. Safe motoring everyone.

16.01.2022 Fitting redarc towpro v3 and instock

16.01.2022 What a beautiful restoration. So immaculate. Love seeing cars come in like this one and the smile on the owners face that says he loves his car. Today we sorted out the driving lights with a new retro looking switch and fitted a power lead with an anderson plug.

16.01.2022 We had this beautifully restore Austin in a few months ago to sort out a few little electrical issues. Her restoration is now complete with the interior now finished. Customer called in to show us the finished product. He has done a wonderful job!

15.01.2022 2014 Colorado 7 with a failed heater core. Right in the middle behind EVERYTHING. All has to come out including the crash bar then the evaporator box comes out, change the heater core, check the evaporator core, clean and put it all back together. Big job, 8 - 10 hours. So to put it into perspective if you have a problem like this in your car this is the extent your mechanic/autoelectrician will have to go to in most late model cars for evaporator or heater core replacement.

15.01.2022 Im all about helping out the small businesses in our area. Hope some of our customers can support these guys

11.01.2022 This is a BMW x5 2003 model. Customer had driven from Melbourne to Caboolture then suddenly the next day the car had loss of power and blooms of smoke from the exhaust. In she came on a tow truck. Diagnosis? Blown Turbo Charger. Expensive? not as bad as it could have been. This car has been owned by the customer for 12months and a major service done prior to delivery by the dealer -- apparently, serviced just before they came on their trip to Brisbane by a reputable dealer --... apparently. Look at the air filter. This has not been changed in a LONG time. The cabin filter was just as bad. Yes, you have to take a heap of stuff off the car to get to them but thats the job of the mechanics and was clearly not done. To add insult to injury they have clearly broken the air filter cap and glued it back together which meant it could not be removed without breaking it. Ignored a leaking coolant hose and charged the customer a hefty bill for the pleasure. If you refer to any suppliers of Turbo Chargers, you will find that a #1 contributing cause of Turbo failure is a dirty air filter. Customers!!! Ask the questions of your servicing mechanic check what has come off your car and that it has been changed It is so sad to see terrible instances like this which resulted in the intercooler having to be repaired and cleaned, replacement coolant hose that was leaking, replacement oil filter cap (3 week wait from Germany). Removal of the exhaust to drain the excess oil from it - 3 litres of oil over a weekend leaving it standing in the workshop. The main thing is thank goodness the customer did not have this happen in the middle of nowhere on his way up through NSW with nothing around for miles and 3 young children in the car. She is all fixed now. See more

09.01.2022 2008 Toyota Common Rail Turbo Diesel V8 Landcruiser. This vehicle came into us with a slight miss, When scanned it was found 3 injectors had out of manufacturers specification readings. All 8 injectors were to be replaced. This is a task that really needs to be done every 100,000 klm and yes it is a costly exercise, but the reality is for longevity, performance and reliability it is a necessity. The injectors that were removed were very carboned up and extremely difficult to remove. When this task is performed the kit comes with injectors, fuel lines, rocker cover gasket, and seals for injectors and fuel lines. Have you done the injectors on your Common rail Diesel????

08.01.2022 2002 Toyota Hilux having a gear box rebuild and new clutch. Challenge getting some of the parts due to age and the Christmas period but she is up and going sounding beautiful with no grinding bearings anymore. We were well aware that the bearings were shot especially 5th gear, but found that the main shaft was severely chewed out. Ofcourse none in Australia but eventually found one in Melbourne. Fly wheel machined up beautifully and new clutch is a dream.

05.01.2022 Work in Progress. HJ Holden with a VS v8 motor. One very lucky and on the ball owner who knows his car very well heard a noise and shut her down immediately. This action has saved him a lot of money. Rocker broke, colit let go and the only damage was one slightly bent valve. Very lucky! So the head has come off, been to the engine reconditioner for inspection and testing, did not require service grind. All pistons are in A1 condition. So we will now begin putting her back tog...ether with all new titanuim Colits, VRS kit and, as she has been off road for quite while, a good engine flush and service and assess the rear brakes which have seized from sitting around for a goid while. One relieved owner, this could have been so much worse but thanks to his very quick reaction, knowing his car very well he will get out of this at a pretty reasonable outlay. See more
