24.01.2022 Here is an interesting map from Rous Water in 2005. It shows: 1. the massive area (in yellow and light green) that is potential catchment for free water falling... from the sky, if only it could be captured. 2. The large catchment (in dark green), for the existing Rocky Creek Dam, all of it forested and protected and producing high quality water. 3. The comparatively tiny catchment for the proposed Dunoon Dam (in pink), most of it farmland and much of it macadamia farms releasing large amounts of agricultural chemicals into the soil runoff. In addition, the new dam would receive water from the forested mountain catchment only when Rocky Creek Dam overspills - a rare occurrence. The new dam may take years to fill and in drought would receive nothing because dry soil doesn't produce runoff. Meanwhile tanks can fill in drought even from a few showers. See more
21.01.2022 Today, Sniff Off founder David Shoebridge will introduce Australia's first bill to rein in police powers, scrap the drug dog program, ban random strip searches,... explicitly outlaw the scarily common 'cough and squat' practice, and ban strip searches outright for kids under 16. We've heard from thousands from you about the increasingly oppressive police state NSW has become. Today is the day we fight back. Thank you to everyone in the Sniff Off community for working with us to make this bill possible. We will continue to stand with you until we stop the aggressive overpolicing put in motion by Labor and gleefully carried on by the Liberals.
19.01.2022 Harsh but accurate.
19.01.2022 The yeah-nahs have it

12.01.2022 As you would expect ...
11.01.2022 It’s official! As of July 1, any GP in Tasmania can prescribe medicinal cannabis. It will take some time for GPs to learn the process, but the program will enab...le patients to have approval for the prescription within 48 hours. This is a game-changing move for those seeking access to medicinal cannabis, previously only accessible through the black market. Not only that, but Tasmania is the only jurisdiction in Australia that has a legal medical defence for prescribed medication, including medicinal cannabis. This sets a valuable precedent for the future of drug driving policy in Australia. But while Tasmanians enjoy legal access and driving defence, patients on the mainland still face criminal charges for testing positive for the presence of THC even when not impaired. It’s time we Drive Change for all Australian patients.
11.01.2022 Cocaine and Cannabis use is at record highs, increased vaping by young people, but cigarette, alcohol consumption down according to the latest National Drug Str...ategy Household Survey 2019. Significantly, due to an increase in advocacy efforts by organisations like Drug Policy Australia and others, Australians are increasingly supportive of cannabis use with most people now support pill-testing. Do you think that Australia should stop arresting peop[le for drugs? Here's the link to the full report. https://www.aihw.gov.au//nation/contents/table-of-contents
11.01.2022 NZ CANNABIS REFERENDUM: Provisional results show a slim majority have voted against the proposed Cannabis Control Bill. With 480K votes still to count, the mar...gin may be too large for the outcome to be changed. Final results next Friday the 6th. Regardless of the final result, I think the Bill they presented was extremely well-considered and health-focused. Any jurisdictions considering cannabis legalisation should first look at this Bill.
10.01.2022 Not a surprise of course ...

08.01.2022 Where were the police in Bondi and the Eastern suburbs? You cannot police your way out of a pandemic, especially when that policing is racist.

Why is Australia so far behind? Isn't it time to end Australia's war on people who use cannabis? What do you think? Campaign T-shirt available here. https://www.drugpolicy.org.au/shop
