25.01.2022 In June we were able to put in around 200 plants to replace those destroyed by the fire last year and to fill in some gaps. Fortunately we had good rain both before and after the planting day. Our next working bee will be on Wednesday 10th July 2019 from 8 am to 11 am. Meet at the Narang Road car park of the Regional Park. This month it is back to weeding, mainly in the areas adjacent to the regeneration area, to remove weeds that have invaded the surrounding bush after the fires last year. Please wear appropriate protective clothing: covered footwear, gloves, hat, long-sleeve shirt and long-leg trousers or equivalent. Insect repellent will be a good idea to bring along together with water and something for your morning tea. Hope to see you there.

24.01.2022 Our next working bee will be on Wednesday 12th June 2019 from 8 am to 12 am. Meet at the Narang Road car park of the Regional Park. We plan to plant around 120 plants to replace plants destroyed by the fire last year and to fill in some gaps. Many of the holes will be prepared beforehand but there will still be a fair bit of work involved in planting, installing plant guards and watering. Please wear appropriate protective clothing: covered footwear, gloves, hat, long-sleeve shirt and long-leg trousers or equivalent. Insect repellent will be a good idea to bring along together with water and something for your morning tea. Hope to see you there.

22.01.2022 Our next working bee will be on Wednesday 11th March 2020 from 8 am to 11 am. Meet at the Narang Road car park of the Regional Park. While there was little weed growth over December/early January (due to the dry weather) the recent rain has encouraged the emergence of many weeds such as clumps of castor oil that need to be removed promptly. Please wear appropriate protective clothing: covered footwear, gloves, hat, long-sleeve shirt and long-leg trousers or equivalent. Insect repellent will be a good idea to bring along together with water and something for your morning tea. Hope to see you there

Insect repellent and sun screen will be a good idea to bring along together with water and something for your morning tea. Hope to see you there !

14.01.2022 Our next working bee will be on Wednesday 9th September 2020 from 9 am to 12 am. Meet at the Narang Road car park of the Regional Park. Plant growth in the regeneration area has been substantial but there has been significant weed growth in the last few months encouraged by the moister conditions so lots to do. We will also be planting a tree in commemoration of Peter Owens. We do need to adhere to the Covid 19 guidelines issued by Council including social distancing, maximum of 20 people, appropriate hygiene and of course not attending with cold/flu like symptoms. Please wear appropriate protective clothing: covered footwear, gloves, hat, long-sleeve shirt and long-leg trousers or equivalent. Insect repellent will be a good idea to bring along together with water and something for your morning tea. Hope to see you there

14.01.2022 Our next working bee will be on Wednesday 9th October 2019 from 8 am to 11 am. Meet at the Narang Road car park of the Regional Park. With the warmer weather we expect rather good weed growth so weeding will be essential to assist in the regeneration of areas that were burn’t last year. One area that could benefit from some attention is to the left of the Narang Road Park entrance Please wear appropriate protective clothing: covered footwear, gloves, hat, long-sleeve shirt and long-leg trousers or equivalent. Insect repellent will be a good idea to bring along together with water and something for your morning tea. Hope to see you there.

12.01.2022 Our next working bee will be on Wednesday 11th September 2019 from 8 am to 12 am. Meet at the Narang Road car park of the Regional Park. We may apply for a grant under the Communities Environment Program 2019-20 so for part of the morning we can discuss a possible proposal. There will also be the time and opportunity to do some weeding around the Narang plantings in preparation for the spring/summer growing season. Please wear appropriate protective clothing: covered footwear, gloves, hat, long-sleeve shirt and long-leg trousers or equivalent. Insect repellent will be a good idea to bring along together with water and something for your morning tea. Hope to see you there.

11.01.2022 It's so frustrating during this great autumn weather to not be able to get out to work on the Park. Particularly as we've had such good rain in the last few weeks. The plantings have responded well - see below - you would never have thought a fire went through less than two years ago. The Zieria too have responded well; as predicted by Terry, they respond to fire and are flourishing. But the rain HAS to keep coming!

05.01.2022 Our next activity will be on Wednesday 11th December 2019 from 9 am to 12 am. Like most organisations we do need to have an Annual General Meeting so will hold this in the Narang picnic area at 9am. Hopefully this can be kept quite short so we can then do a bit of weeding in the area adjacent to the regeneration area (same as last month) Meet at the Narang Road car park of the Regional Park. Please wear appropriate protective clothing: covered footwear, gloves, hat, long-sleeve shirt and long-leg trousers or equivalent. As Cassia (Senna pendula var. glabrata) is coming into flower it will be a great opportunity to remove these as they are so easily located with their bright yellow flowers. 01.01.2022 We have had to cancel working bees while Australia is dealing with the current virus outbreak

01.01.2022 Our next working bee will be on Wednesday 14th August 2019 from 8 am to noon and will be a bit different from recent activities. We will be working on the North Side of the Park (North Nowra side). Meet at the locked gate on Falcon Crescent at 8:00 am. We can decide when we arrive there if we all want to drive in or car pool. After parking near the old tip we will walk to our destination on the western side of the creek inspecting Bomaderry Zieria sites on the way, including some in flower. Activities will include spraying of weeds (mother of millions) , hand weeding where necessary (ink weed, fire weed etc) and erecting plant guards for Zieria to keep pesky rabbits and kangaroos at bay. Wear appropriate clothes and bring hat, tick repellent and refreshments for morning tea.
