24.01.2022 Misfiring and rough running on this Corolla. We diagnosed it as faulty coil pack, supplied and fitted 3 new coil packs (one was replaced by us previously). Erased all faults, road rested all Okay. ... If your vehicle is running rough give Boss Automotive a call even if your vehicle isn't euro we can still cater for you.

24.01.2022 Major service on this Santa Fe today. 9000ks overdue it's service As you can see in the pictures the cabin and air filters were very dirty. ... We replaced all the filters and gave it a full check over, it's running much better now. We don't just do Euro vehicles so if your vehicle needs a service or some attention give Boss Automotive a call and we'll be happy to help. @ Narangba, Queensland, Australia

22.01.2022 Serviced an Alfa 147 this week. Requested to do a minor service but it ended up needing a brake fluid flush, cabin filter and spark plugs. These engines have 2 plugs per cylinder and the primary plugs are different to the secondary plugs. The vehicle was running rough and down on power. I was given a history and in my opinion the lack of power was due to a misfire caused by lack of maintenance by the previous owner. ... You can see from the pictures how bad the old spark plugs are worn compared to the new ones. The cabin filter was filthy and looked as though it was an original part with a date of 2007!!! stamped on it. I suspect it hadn't been changed because it's fairly hidden and fiddly to get to. I fixed the issues with quality parts and pleased to report the vehicle is running smoothly with its power back to normal. It is important to service your vehicle(s) regularly and change the items that the manufacturer recommends at the correct time to avoid issues and to keep the vehicle running properly. If your vehicle is due for a service now or in the future or needs attention, contact Boss Automotive for a competitive quote. Thanks Melissa for choosing Boss Automotive to look after your vehicle.

19.01.2022 Another good reason to change your oil regularly. This engine is toast.

18.01.2022 This Skoda Yeti 1.2tsi came in for a service and ended up having a new water pump fitted due to a big coolant leak. We fitted an aftermarket pump of OE quality and at a better price than a genuine pump, new coolant and the car is all good. We also fitted front discs and brake pads and new rear brake pads. ... The cabin filter was filthy and had never been changed.

12.01.2022 Update Boss Automotive is still trading. Boss Automotive is helping customers to keep their cars in working order. By keeping cars in working order, people are able to drive and buy essentials e.g. medicines and food. We will continue to trade until we are advised not to by the Australian Government and relevant accredited sources.... A big thank you to all my customers for being so sensible and only asking me to visit them to fix their car if they are 'well' no cough cold or fever etc. And vice versa. I know it's a risk to visit but when I do visit we are of course practicing social distancing and taking appropriate hygiene measures. Thank you to my suppliers. Without you I would not be able to keep essential cars on the road. In the meantime everyone, stay safe, stay home whenever possible, stay well.

11.01.2022 This made me chuckle.

10.01.2022 This guy cut me off on the Gateway Bridge this morning in a smoky old vehicle. 294 TPC - Gold Nissan Patrol Not only was I nearly run off the road by him, I also had to breathe in his dirty, smelly excessively smoky diesel exhaust fumes once he was in front of me. ... So as a matter of respect I reported him to TMR on the smoky vehicle section of their page. I encourage everyone to do this for every smoky vehicle they see so that we can get these dirty smelly vehicles off the road and protect the environment. 10.01.2022 Fun day at Lakeside today for the Test N Drive Day.

09.01.2022 LH cam cover gasket and spark plugs on this 1997 WRX with 362,000kms today. Gasket leaking heavily and spark plugs worn badly. Not sure when they were last changed. Fitting platinum plugs and new spark plug leads as the old ones have rubbed through and arcing. ... Should be good for another 100,00kms @ Petrie, Queensland

06.01.2022 This morning's job involves fitting a new transmission radiator to a VW Polo 6R 1.2tsi. The old part was leaking so needed to be replaced. As you can see from the pictures it was quite a big job. Although I had to take the front of the car off it wasn't to bad a job. This is the only way that you can gain access to the radiator in order to remove it. Once the front was off it was easy to remove the lower radiator which is clipped to the upper radiator. ... I fitted the new part and reassembled the vehicle. Checked everything worked, filled with new coolant, bled the system and road tested. @ Bracken Ridge, Queensland See more

05.01.2022 My Mini has been having starting issues. I checked the fuel pressure from the primer pump to the engine and it read around 2 - 3 bar. High pressure pump reading 5 bar so all good there. Still difficult to start. I spoke to BMW and they told me there is a fuel filter in the tank on the RHS but it's a lifetime filter. I managed to get a new one from Burson and so I thought I'd replace it. ... It is a tricky and fiddly job to do but as you can see from the pictures it's worth doing. There was a lot of dirt in the filter housing and the filter itself was filthy. The car has started fine for the last couple of days so I'll see if this has fixed it. If your Mini is down on power or difficult to start this could be part or all of the problem. Give Boss Automotive a call we'll see if we can help. #bossautomotiveqld #mini #coopers #JCW #fuel #filter #poorstarting

05.01.2022 Happy hump day people. Today I returned to this customers address to refit his Diesel Particule Filter that I removed last week for cleaning. This is a big job to do but necessary if you have a DPF and glow plug light on your dash and lack of power. ... Boss Automotive will remove clean, refit and re-adapt everything for you so your car runs like new again. Contact us if you're having issues and we'll help you out.

04.01.2022 Happy New Year to all my customers. Just a message to inform you that Boss Automotive will be away from the 16th Feb and returning on the 8th March. If anyone would like to book their vehicle in before we go away, please call, text, email or book in via the Facebook page. ... If we don't see you before we go we'll see you when we get back. Regards Boss Automotive.

04.01.2022 I recently got asked to replace the RH door handle carrier on an E53 BMW X5. The customer had bought their own part on eBay for $35 to save some money. I removed the old carrier and proceeded to fit the new part. ... It was a nightmare to fit, things didn't line up and it took me hours to finally get it fitted only to find out that it didn't work. I said the customer that I would order the part from my supplier as it was cheaper than BMW but still of OE quality. This part fitted straight in, no struggling. I put it in, tested it and put the door back together. 30 mins max as the door was already disassembled. I have posted photos to show the part. It doesn't look different but looks can be deceiving. Needless to say, I won't be fitting any parts supplied by customers from eBay anymore. Some people think it'll save them money but in the long run it can end up being more expensive.

01.01.2022 Today's job involved replacing a flexible coupling in the steering column on a Kia Sorento. When the steering wheel was turned, it knocked. A common issue on Kia's. The steering column was removed and dismantled so the new bush can be fitted. ... From the pictures, the old coupling was broken and had bits missing. The new coupling is a modified part from Kia which fixes this issue. Part fitted, vehicle back together, faults checked and erased. Road test performed. Drives like new, customer happy. Mission complete. If your steering is sloppy on your Kia, Boss Automotive can fix it for you! Contact us a call for a quote. Happy to help @ Whiteside
