11.01.2022 In our rider manuals, we recommend that riders always mount with a block. We say it makes mounting easier for you, your horse and your saddle. Most importantly,... a mounting block is best practice for horse welfare so you are not pulling the horse's body to one side every time you get on, which can contribute to one sidedness or musculoskeletal pain and discomfort. It's not cheating, it's being considerate of your horse!
