Best of all, well have plenty of great #wines for you to try, including some new varietals. For more details visit our website or call Sarah on 0409 210 015.

20.01.2022 Staying home does allow you appreciate the smaller things in life. The roses are beautiful right now, especially since weve had some rain. These are all so fragrant and peppery. The red one in the foreground is the Lauriston rose, bred by my former headmistress, Susan Irving, who made a whole new life as a rose breeder after she retired from teaching. I guess it must have been easier than trying to wrangle 800 girls on a daily basis!! I heard she passed away earlier this year, so its especially nice to be thinking about her today.

20.01.2022 WOW. WOW. WOW. Our beautiful capers are ready to pick!

20.01.2022 Recent visitors from regional Victoria loved their #babymoon in our local area. It was this first getaway since the birth of their second child at the beginning of the year. They took advantage of all our wonderful cellar doors and bought up big - hopefully enough to see them through this #lockdown at least!

19.01.2022 After spending time in the #city with Matilda and Ettienne, Clive has returned to the #vineyard to take on a new role specialising in #irrigation. #vineyarddogs #boxgrovevineyard

18.01.2022 Exciting news! Box Grove Vineyard has been named one of ten Dark Horse Wineries in the 2020 Halliday Companion. To qualify for this award, each winery has to have received a 5 star rating for the first time, and a history of at least four lesser ratings. Im particularly #happy to be recognised for the different varieties weve planted over the years most notably the Portuguese, Italian and Southern French varieties which suit our granite soils and the slightly left-of-cent...re #wines like our #primitivo, which uses a combination of fruit dried on racks in #silos and #vine ripened fruit. But above all, its a great tribute to the hard work of my team in recent years learning the personalities of these different varieties and coaxing out their best flavour and character with diligent care, then capturing these flavours in the bottle at the winery. Our thanks to taster Ned Goodwin, #jameshalliday and the rest of the team for this wonderful accolade. See more

16.01.2022 A swarm of #bees in the #vineyard yesterday, now safely ensconced in one of our bee hives! #avenelhoney #boxgrovevineyard

16.01.2022 Banjo Harris Plane and the Wine Gallery taste test our 2018 Vermentino. Their verdict - DELICIOUS. Loaded with flavours of yellow apple, white melon and baked lemon, our savoury and refreshing white wine is beautifully paired with sardines, oysters or raw fish. Take it away Banjo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EH1NHUg7Cvs&feature=youtu.be

14.01.2022 Not much social distancing amongst the #boys today! They found the pruning of the #prosecco and the wrapping of the canes fascinating. Shame they cant help! #spring is in the air and bud burst is not that far away.

13.01.2022 Our little Clive is learning to be a farm dog. In a former life, he was a handsome prince.

13.01.2022 Rest assured, these happy ladies are NOT on the #menu at our Spring Lunch on Sunday 15 September nor will they ever be! We still have a handful of #tickets available so if youre thinking of coming, we would love to see you! For bookings, call Sarah on 0409 210 015 or visit our website for more details.

13.01.2022 Looks like the #prosecco is ripe and ready for picking. It's going to be a busy few days at the #vineyard!

12.01.2022 Vanessa found a new clutch of grey thrush chicks in the mop bucket hanging out under the eaves of the Osteria!! She was over putting our first #capers of the season in #salt and heard them cheeping! The mother had a good sized #gecko in her mouth to feed them. I don’t know how she divided it in twothey both look pretty #hungry! They don’t look like they would have happily shared a treat like that! #spring is so bountiful this year at the #vineyard. After two cruel drought years the grass is chest high, the #roses are beautiful and the #cattle are fat.

10.01.2022 Meet Jan and Craig, enjoying a #coffee break after this morning’s harvest of sparkling #roussanne. They've been picking #grapes at Box Grove for 18 years and are our longest standing pickers.

09.01.2022 My nephew Chris has been helping out with the picking. Last week, we put his lovely long legs to good use, crushing pinot gris for vin cotto!

09.01.2022 Discover Goulburn Valleys best cellar doors, as named by the RACVs Royal Auto magazine, including our very own Box Grove Vineyard Osteria.

08.01.2022 Two hours of picking and all we ended up with is 500 grams of #capers! Thankfully the crops will get bigger as the weather gets warmer. There were so many butterflies out today - a sure sign we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled for caterpillars over the coming weeks. #vineyardlife

08.01.2022 Our beautiful, hard-working dog Ned keeping himself nice and cool on a hot summers day. Plus, a gentle reminder to leave out plenty of water for pets, birds and other wildlife when the temperatures spike.

07.01.2022 It was a very frosty start for us pruners this morning. Ned doesnt mind the cold but the rest of us were certainly feeling it!!

07.01.2022 25 MAY, 2019 Join me for a special winemakers lunch and tasting, hosted by our good friends at Northern Republic Enjoy a leisurely three-course meal made with fresh, local produce, perfectly matched to our latest Italian varietals. 07.01.2022 STORIES FROM THE VINEYARD Weve completed our first row of pruning for the season. Sooooo many more rows to go but at least were off and running.

07.01.2022 Some photos from our Pinot Gris pick last week. Were super excited with the flavours this year and the different colour tones in the grapes are beautiful.

06.01.2022 Our Prosecco vines are a buzz of activity at the moment with the bees loving the sweet flowers. Unlike most fruiting crops, bees are not needed to pollinate grapes but theyre certainly a sign of a very healthy eco system.

05.01.2022 We trust youre staying home and staying safe. At the vineyard we have set up a strict physical distancing policy which even extends to our canine companions! Were still working hard as we can to finish harvest and cant wait to for our family and friends to get their sanitised hands on our newest vintage Prosecco, Pinot Gris and Negroamaro.

04.01.2022 The award winning, Box Grove Vineyard, is a gem amongst the abundant Goulburn Valley Wine region AND only 90 mins from Melbourne. Sarah Gough is the mastermind behind wines that have won the Star Cellar Door last March and named one of the ten Dark Horse Wineries in 2020. Uniquely, the team at Box Grove make their own compost to improve soil structure and work with the vines natural habits to create canopies for shade and air flow, to avoid the use of sprays and chemicals. Th...e family based team aims for minimal handling wherever possible, letting the fruit and flavours of the Tabilk shine through. Now let's talk about some of the amazing wines on offer. Sarah Gough is famously known for being the first person to grow a Prosecco in the region. Currently there is a new soft and spicy red Negroamaro along with a crisp and crunchy Vermentino (dry white), all Italian varieties, pioneered in this area. Visitors are also very to come by the Osteria (Cellar Door) any time, by appointment, which can be made via my email [email protected] or mobile 0409 210 015. To learn more, order wine or view details about stockists, please head to www.boxgrovevineyard.com.au.
