25.01.2022 Brodies Bon Appétit Protein Ice-Cream This recipe makes 1 serve... Nutritional information per serve: Calories - 210 Carbs - 34g Fats - 4g Proteins - 14g Ingredients 1 medium banana, sliced & frozen 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk 1 TBS cocoa powder Half a serve of protein powder (20g) Method: 1. Slice banana and place into a freezer bag & freeze overnight 2. The next day, blend the banana, almond milk, cocoa powder and protein powder together until it reaches a smooth & creamy consistency like ice cream 3. For a soft-serve type consistency, serve as is, or for a more solid consistency, place mixture into a container and freeze for around 1 hour or until firm This is a great after dinner snack if you are looking for that sugar fix! You can also change up the flavour of your ice-cream by using different flavours of protein powder. I sometimes even like to add peanut butter Hope you enjoy guys!

24.01.2022 Raw Challenge Ready
24.01.2022 Hey Legends! This is "Steve's Spiel" for the week Are we ready for one of my weird analogies? Like seriously ask yourself? I've had a few random thoughts this week and one of those is how trash television and bad foods aren't too different! Now hear me out before you make any more judgments! ... For those that aren't aware, I have been a huge 'Married at First Sight' fan for the last few years and have been known to enjoy trash television like 'Jersey Shore' and 'Ex on the Beach' a little too much! I am also a huge movie buff and over analyse movies like there is no tomorrow and sometimes it's nice to watch shows that I named above just to turn the brain off and be entertained without having to think! I believe this is similar to cheat meals or if we have a little bit of chocolate, for example. It's nice for a small portion of the week to indulge a little bit, after we have had a big week of sticking to our nutrition plans. In turn, this will allow us to stay on track if we are to have a small amount of things that aren't great for us, rather than cutting it out completely, as it's less likely for us to fully binge on something and then our whole week is out of whack! Don't be so hard on yourself if you have that bit of chocolate or a burger. As long as we get back on track and make good choices for the remainder of the week, it won't affect you! Anyone reading this who gives me crap about liking trash television, as I have mentioned above, small portions of 'Jersey Shore' is good for my brain, as long as I get back to watching quality television like 'Breaking Bad', I won't go too loopy..... or is that too late? DON'T ANSWER THAT! Anyways that's enough out of me for the week! Have a good weekend legends and as always, don't go too bananas! Steve

23.01.2022 The All or Nothing mentality! The thought that when approaching a new fitness goal that you are either all-in or you may as well not even bother. 2 workouts each day, a very strict and restrictive diet, exclusion from social events and demonising anything that may get in the way of their objective (normally weight loss).... In the contrary is a complete lack of care, motivation and drive to do anything healthy. Weekly exercise is doing the vacuum cleaning and they cant remember the last time they ate a vegetable. Very few people are able to find the sweet spot between the two, why is this? We have been programmed to want to see physical progress as quickly as possibly. We are constantly exposed to media that losing body fat (and keeping it off) is easy and can be done quickly. Whether it be in a magazine (how I lost 20kg in a month), on tv (6 pack abs in 6 minutes) or here on social media (14 day juice cleanse to lose 14lbs), the message is the same. What they are failing to include is the truth. The truth is that to be fit, healthy and in good shape takes time, discipline and hard work. Ask any of your friends or family who fall under this umbrella and they will attest to this. The truth isnt sexy and the truth isnt always marketable therefore it is often fabricated to achieve financial gain and serves a personal interest. The problem is we are led to believe this unrealistic perception of what it takes and what it means to be healthy, is the correct one. We need to find a middle ground that builds strategy with our exercise and nutrition that is sustainable. Something we can manage and something we can realistically see ourselves following for a longer period of time. Good things take time, discipline and hard work otherwise every time you went to Coles, everybody you see would be in fantastic shape. In the last few months we have aimed to provide correct and honest information to help provide clarity to the misconceptions in the health and fitness space, and we will continue to do so. Rant over If you made it this far, thanks for reading

20.01.2022 Hey Legends! This is "Steve's Spiel" for the week GETTING THEM Z'S! Most of you that have witnessed me bright and early of a morning know that I am pretty energetic for that time! It's no coincidence! I am a really good sleeper! You need to be fully recharged to be Steve ... That was except for last week, which got me thinking! I went down and visited friends and family in Sydney and didn't get back till late Sunday, which left me 5 or so hours sleep before one of our famous early morning get ups. That literally left me out of whack for THE ENTIRE WEEK! I had a serious lack of energy and I definitely saw first hand how lack of sleep could severely impact our motivation to do most things! At the start of our week, whether you meal prep, plan out what sessions you want to attend, one of the most important things we can do is plan to get enough sleep! It'll give us way more energy to give our all in each workout and generally just make us feel better and not like a walking zombie! If we want to feel better, we have to be organised in regards to our sleep also. I know for some it's tough, due to shift work and having children, but try and get into some form of routine and see if you feel any different Anyways that's enough out of me! Enjoy your Sunday people and as always, don't go too bananas! Steve

15.01.2022 Hey Legends! This is "Steve's Spiel" for the week So often, we undervalue simply moving as a way of burning calories and staying active. I have spoken to almost all of you and I have noticed a similar thing that we have in common. Most of us all own something that is one of the greatest pieces of fitness equipment known to mankind.... This piece of equipment is the most revolutionary product on the market and is perfect to use when we can't access Boot Camp and that is..... YOUR DOG! Seriously, since owning James, which has been over a month now, I have noticed that walking him each day for 30-45 mins really makes up a chunk of my step count for the day Dogs are also quite therapeutic as well, so whilst you are working on your step count and burning those extra calories, we are also improving on our well-being, whilst in the company of a furry friend. IT'S A WIN WIN! Hopefully you have a dog like James that takes you for a walk, so it's not as leisurely! Keeping up with that guy can be a tough slog! Anyways legends, that's enough out of me for the week! Enjoy what's left of your weekend and as always, don't go too bananas! Steve

Krystin has been coming to the Camp for 6 months and in that time, we have never seen her give anything but 110% ... She gets into her workouts with a "no nonsense" attitude, pushing as hard as she can and that attitude deserves to be commended Great job, Krystin!

06.01.2022 Hey Legends! This is "Steve's Spiel" for the week So, over the last few weeks, I have been asked numerous times about how on earth it is possible to be as chirpy as I at 5:45 in the morning Now truth be told, I am a really good sleeper. I get plenty of the stuff. Having said that, there is one other very important aspect of why I'm the way I am at that time and many other times throughout the day; it's because I genuinely enjoy being surrounded by you legends! ... Somebody said to me a few weeks ago that the Boot Camp feels like a family and thats exactly the case! I have NEVER viewed you all in any other way than that. I think that's why I have always wanted to give you all the best possible experience and for you all to leave both buggered and with a smile on your face, as you guys truly feel like family. It's always the case with families, you always do things with your best intentions At the end of the day, it's always an absolute pleasure to come into "work" each day, knowing that I get to have a laugh, catch up and work towards goals together and for that, I simply just want to say thank you, because it's you legends that make the Boot Camp a pleasure to be at Next few week, we have our Xmas party and it's a good way to celebrate all of your success throughout the year! I would absolutely love to see as many faces as possible at the event Anyways, that's enough out of me for the week! Enjoy whats left of your weekend and as always, don't go too bananas! Steve

02.01.2022 WE conquered the Raw Challenge Thanks to everyone for making it such an awesome day Cant wait for March
01.01.2022 WE HAVE 3 VERY IMPORTANT RULES 1 - ALWAYS INTRODUCE YOURSELF We refuse to be in a room full of strangers The BootCamp is built off the environment we create. You will feel comfortable, supported & work out in a friendly environment with like minded people. Share the experience together. ... 2 - ALWAYS WORK HARD If it was easy everyone would do it To change your life is hard work. There is no quick fix. This will take a considerable of amount of effort & time. 6-12 months of attending 3-4 sessions a week & making smart choices with food can reverse 20 years of bad habits. We think thats a fair deal. 3 - ALWAYS HAVE FUN Exercise shouldnt be a chore Embrace the journey and love the idea of being healthy & improving the quality of your life. If you feel as though this is a chore, you will fail. YOU CAN DO IT - MAKE THAT CHANGE.
