RAFFLE UPDATE: We've sold 999 raffle tickets online - that's 999 peeps who will get first dibs on buying event tickets should we be allowed to go ahead with BDF21. Get your tickets here: www.brighterdays.org.au EVENT UPDATE: The Victorian Government recently release their COVID-19 Public Events Framework which guides the phased resumption of public events in line with Victoria's ...roadmap to reopening. As a result we need to submit an application to have our COVIDSafe Event Plan approved before we know if we can proceed with BDF21. We are just about to submit our plan, so fingers crossed we'll have positive news shortly. 2020 has certainly been a memorable year for all but especially the Alpine region with both the Summer bushfires and COVID-19 impacting the tourism sector particularly hard. At this time, we would like to encourage all those holding accommodation reservations for the Festival weekend to consider keeping your booking regardless of the outcome for our event. Bright is a beautiful town at any time of the year and your support of the tourism sector in this area is more needed than ever before. 20.01.2022 FROM THE BRIGHTER DAYS COMMITTEE Well thats a wrap for Brighter Days 2020, and we couldnt be happier with how it went. A huge shout out to the Bright community and the Alpine Shire for their ongoing support and the incredible effort that went into preparing Pioneer Park, it was terrific.... We also want to thank the residents around the park for their understanding and their patience with the event which raises significant funds for our charities; DEBRA Australia, EB Research Foundation, Cooper Trewin Memorial SUDC Research Fund and CFA Ovens Valley Group of Brigades. Thank you to our sponsors and the 270 plus volunteers who make this event possible; you are incredible. Thanks to our artists for the sensational tunes and awesome entertainment. 17.01.2022 FESTIVAL UPDATE . As you are may be aware by now, the Victorian State Government released their Framework for Public Events in December last year. We put our submission for event approval in on 14th December and have only just had their event team contact us last week - and that was because we lobbied the local member of Parliament to try and get them to talk to us. 16.01.2022 Hello to all of our Brighter Days Foundation loyal friends, supporters and sponsors. Well what a 2020 we have had, one of the last Live events in 2020 with the Brighter Days Festival and The Fight On Katy Perry Concert to finish it off, little did we know that things would go down hill from there. We would like to thank all of our friends, supporters and sponsors for being patient while we try and get the 2021 event up and running, it has been a long process. As soon as we we...re given the permit application for a COVIDsafe event we compiled all of the information and set about filling in the many pages for the new planning that goes with this event, not just a copy of last years, an entire new strategy with many extra safeguards to keep all of our volunteers and supporters safe. The application was put in a few weeks ago so now all we can do is see if we get an approval. The Committee has worked tirelessly on this and we are hopeful of a good outcome from the Victorian Government once they get the opportunity to review this application. At the time of writing this we still had not heard one way or the other, in actual fact we have not had any thing come back other that the submission confirmation email. On behalf of the Committee of the Brighter Days Foundtion I would like to thank you again for you ongoing support and patience with the lack of news and we wish you all a safe and happy Christmas and a ripper New Year. 07.01.2022 We lose another legend... For those who may not have heard, our very dear friend, work colleague and loyal sponsor of Brighter Days, Neale Brumby, from Heavy Duty bike magazine has sadly passed away this week. On behalf of the committee, and all the Brighter Days, H-Dtv and motorbike communities, our thoughts are with Viv and the family in this horrible time.... Neale, along with his lovely wife and travelling partner Viv have over the years been a pillar of the biking community and we were lucky enough to have spent many hours riding the world together on our beloved Harley-Davidsons. We recorded the very first episode of H-Dtv with Brum and ever since we became very close mates. We also lost our good mate Paul Hallam last year, too many good people leaving us too young. RIP Brum you lived life to the fullest, you were very generous and helped many charities over the journey. You and Viv were great supporters of Brighter Days and the two of you made a memorable couple at our annual events. After speaking with Dave who founded the Eliza ride to Brighter Days, it will now have the Neale Brumby name recognised as well.. Brum, we wont forget you! We are about to start a new series of H-Dtv looking back on great rides that we (H-Dtv) had done with Paul Hallam, we will now be putting Neale Brumby into that legend status..we did plenty of fun rides across the globe together. To all the H-Dtv and Brighter Days community, keep an eye out for the new H-Dtv series where we look back on great rides with these two legends who knew how to ride and have fun. ...please share and pass on viewing detailswe can keep their memories going.
