23.01.2022 Dear all - it's budget time please go to https://mysay.alexandrina.sa.gov.au/ and make comments - what you like what you don't? I did not suport this budget as I wanted to have zero rates and can't support cuts to libraries and other expected services....Continue reading

23.01.2022 Great idea on these lovely mild days! Support our local businesses!

23.01.2022 Hi everyone As predicted the enormous amount of time and work by Council had no impact. At the time of the debate I questioned that our information was in fact answering what the State Government wanted IE proof of Economic Impact by remaining GM Free - some farmers will be very happy others not. This was a really divisive issue and I think it will be hard to return to GM free in the future if that is what the community want. https://www.abc.net.au//sa-councils-application-/12839636

12.01.2022 Community organisations looking for funds?

11.01.2022 Good morning everyone - just in case you don’t know there is an app called Snap Send Solve. So when you see roads or verges that need fixing you can send it straight to Council. I’ve had good feedback from it! Have a great week!

10.01.2022 Thank you all for protecting our heritage and these wonderful creatures who not only make my heart sing, are an amazing draw card for on land tourists who bring their patronage to our area. My cousin Jon Lewis founded the Whale and Dolphin coalition in 1978 and was harpooned trying to stop the whaling off Cheyne's beach in WA. Our family has been passionate about whales for a very long time.

04.01.2022 State Library opens on the 9th June and here are Alexandrina Library updates! Look at the LGA website under news to see the summary of the new robust, evidence based report in the value of libraries! ROI is $2.80 for every dollar invested!

03.01.2022 Congratulations to our beautiful Alexandrina Cheese Company. If you haven’t been it is well worth a visit.

02.01.2022 It's a gorgeous day on the Fleurieu - come see our whales soon - saw a pod of dolphins this morning!

02.01.2022 While we hear a lot about mainstream media, our small local media struggles constantly for survival. Please support local papers with advertising and buying the hard copies. Our elderly people who are not computer literate rely on this to stay connected to their community. Every Thursday I try and get a copy - can you do the same? It's a small price for community conectivity. We are very lucky to have The Times in Victor Harbor and details on returning Australian Community... Media (formerly Fairfax) newspapers below. PLEASE SUPPORT! Wednesday, July 1: Border Chronicle (Bordertown) Coastal Leader (Kingston SE) The Transcontinental (Port Augusta) Thursday, July 2: Port Pirie Recorder The Murray Valley Standard Whyalla News Newspapers that continued to operate through COVID: The Times (Fleurieu) The Islander (Kangaro island) Port Lincoln Times Newspapers currently still stood down: Barossa and Light Herald Eyre Peninsula Tribune Naracoorte Herald Northern Argus The Flinders News West Coast Sentinel

02.01.2022 An online event for our younger folk to join. I have attended some great events at the Wheeler Centre over the years - a good page to follow. #creativity meets #education

01.01.2022 As my family has been a victim of theft in Victor Harbor- I encourage you to report and share this.
