19.01.2022 It's with a heavy heart we have to tell the Turill Community that we've lost one of Turill and Merriwa's finest man, it is with deep sorrow to announce that Mr Arthur Williams passed away yesterday. As we know Arthur has been fighting a mighty battle with cancer, its a fight Arthur has fought against for many years. Its a testament to his courage, fortitude and his strength of determination to battle on. And battle on he did.... Arthur never lost the will to fight the good fight. Cancer may have won the battle but it never won the war. Our little community has much to be grateful for, Arthur's contributions as the mayor of Merriwa and his never failing contribution to his/our community hall. We'd like to send Edna and all the Family our deepest and sincerest condolences on the loss of a husband, a father, a grandfather and a good, good man. Vale Arthur Williams and God Bless You RIP mate

12.01.2022 For those who knew Mr Arthur Williams but we're not able to attend Arthur's funeral today this is the program for the service. The Turill Community Hall on behave of all the Turill Community sent a beautiful wreath of Australian flowers. Arthur was farewelled with a ballad from his all time favorite Australian country and western singer & musician Slim Dusty. ... Sending Love & Sincere Condolences to Arthur's beloved wife Edna, children, grandchildren, his brothers & sisters, friends and neighbours. R.I.P Arthur

12.01.2022 As most locals would know the residents of Gulgong have major issues with filthy water coming out of their taps "filthy water they pay dearly for" this has been going on for too many years. This newly formed group "The Gulgong Water Watchers" are going to document/video etc the problems they are dealing with on a daily basis. If you have friends/family in Gulgong please ask them to support this group and hopefully get council to finally fix this problem once and for all. Thank you. https://www.facebook.com/groups/820192465223312/?ref=share

08.01.2022 Please note the family are holding a private funeral for Mr Arthur Williams but have approved a memorial service to be held at the Turill Community Hall "something very close to Arthur's heart" at a later date.
