Last month we took a look at some of th...e treasures Eugowra has to offer. This month we will experience the beautiful landscapes, food & wine and stories of the village of Nashdale. Nashdale is a destination for afternoon drives and weekend explorations. The essence can be absorbed gastronomically or on foot if you are truly adventurous through the bush of the Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area. The area has developed a reputation for produce stalls, cellar doors and boutique restaurants all meandering through winding roads set amongst the orchards.

12.01.2022 Cabonne Country - Discover the Riches - Eugowra On Sunday, 15 June 1862, Frank Gardiner and his gang, including Ben Hall, Henry Manns, Alex Fordyce, Dan Charte...rs, John Bow, John O’meally and John Gilbert held up the Gold Escort, Ford & Co Coach (one month later Cobb & Co bought the company) on its way from Forbes to Bathurst. The robbery took place five kilometres north of Eugowra in an area known as Escort Rocks. This was the largest gold robbery in Australia’s history, bagging fourteen thousand pounds worth of gold and banknotes. In today’s currency this would be approximately $8 million. 06.01.2022 Cabonne Country - Discover the Riches of Nashdale and explore the outdoors by visiting the Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area. The National Park offers bir...dwatching, walking trails, scenic views of Cabonne and the Central West, beautiful picnic areas and camping at Federal Falls. It is believed Mount Canobolas derives its name from the Aboriginal words Gaahna Bula. This means two shoulders which refers to the summits of Mount Canobolas and Young Man Canobolas. The extinct volcano is said to have experienced a series of eruptions 11 million years ago and lava flows formed the steep features we see today. At 1397m above sea level, Mount Canobolas is the highest peak on a line between Sydney and Perth.
