25.01.2022 Tuesday night Caboolture Toastmasters held another hybrid meeting with Glenda attending via Zoom. We were privileged to have a visit from the Area 3 Director Suresh Nair. The table topics were based around our theme for the night, Spring. Tracey won best table topic for the evening. Teena provided a speech discussing her leadership style, the first project for level 2 in Pathways. We also had an interesting debate on which has it better, city or country mice, which led to some really funny arguments. Our word for the night was Spring, which was used more than any other word previously, over 30 times. Ted won best evaluation for the night. Carol, Mavis and Teena also received pins for completing their levels in Pathways. It was a really enjoyable meeting.

20.01.2022 Tuesday night saw Caboolture Toastmasters have its changeover meeting. It was a fun filled night where for table topics we had lesser known national flags and members would be asked to create a story from them, leading to interesting tales. Jenny would win best Table Topic. Our Area 3 Director Suresh Nair would lead our Round Robin segment which was led around a crazy dinner party, and Jenny led our changeover ceremony and awards. Leona was awarded Most Improved Toastmaster and Tracey was awarded both the President's Award and Toastmaster of the Year. Congratulations Leona and Tracey and thank you to Jenny Owens and Suresh Nair for being guests and helping on the night!

16.01.2022 Tuesday night saw Caboolture Toastmasters have its contest night, with the humorous and table topics contests. Ted won the humorous speech contest, with Carol coming in second and Leona in third. Ted's speech was about his heart surgery and finding humour in something that can be quite scary to go through. Very entertaining. Linda won the table topics contest, with Chris coming in second and Ted coming in third. The topic was "It jumped in front of me", with everyone providin...g engaging speeches. A huge thank you to all the judges who came and helped on the night. We also said goodbye to two members who will be leaving our club, long time member Tony, who has been a member for 29 years, and Mavis who has been so helpful on the executive and as a member. Thank you Tony and Mavis for all the work you have done for our club. It was a great evening! See more
