21.01.2022 ALL IN! This Sunday we will join together for our Sunday morning meeting at 10 in the chapel and on the deck, and overflowing into the car park seating area. This week's meeting is "ALL IN!" so the kids will not be going to kids' church, but instead will be joining us and taking part in the service. You will ALL be encouraged to join in, so come ready to be a part of a great morning. Please remember that you may be more comfortable with a picnic rug or pillow on the stone se...ating, or if you'd like you can bring your own chair. Also, come prepared for sunny or windy weather - a hat and a coat would be perfect! We're blessed to be able to gather together and we thank you for the way that you've complied to the COVID-safe plan that we've put in place. This helps us to ensure that we keep everyone as safe as we can and enable us to gather in a way that meets the requirements peculiar to this situation. Reminder: * Social (physical) distancing means 1.5m between people outside of your household * Hugs and handshakes are out for now * Clean your hands * Sneezes and coughs go into your elbow * If you are unwell please stay at home * Record your details on our COVID register And if you are staying for morning-tea, allow us to serve you and then please ensure you are seated.

20.01.2022 Consider the birds... Come join us in the sunshine for church at 10:00 this morning. It’s a beautiful day!

19.01.2022 Please be praying for our friends in Indonesia.

19.01.2022 Have you considered adopting a family this Christmas? You can show your support by choosing a family and purchasing groceries to make a food hamper for them for Christmas. You can phone our office between 9 and 3, Tuesday to Friday if you have any enquiries. See the list of families here: https://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au//487-coast-/4138484/ And if you want some ideas about what you can buy, see the photo below for some helpful suggestions. We'd appreciate drop off of your groceries here by Friday the 11th of December, so that we're ready to bless families before Christmas. Merry Christmas and may God bless you!

19.01.2022 The kangaroos are here, the ibis and the scrub turkeys keep on coming, the kookaburras and the ducks, the plovers and the herons, they all love to visit our chapel, what about you? Are you coming in on Sunday?

18.01.2022 Did you know that if you’re unable to join us for church you can watch the meeting on YOUTUBE? You can go back and find these from August/September. Here is the link to the video from yesterday. https://youtu.be/UJ7EaNiHsSM Prior to that, our podcasts (audio only) can be found on our website: https://www.salvationarmy.org.au/caloundra/pod-casts/

15.01.2022 This afternoon we were privileged to celebrate the life of Ron Martin who was Promoted to Glory on Monday 31st August. Ron is reunited with his wife, Val, after her PTG in December, 2018. Our thanks to James Condon for conducting the Thanksgiving and Celebration Service and to Ron's daughter, Kerinna and son, Warren for sharing this special family time with those who had known your Dad - some only a few years, others for many, many years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as a family as you fondly remember him and move into life without him. A song from the service this afternoon, though a different recording, this one is for Ron. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7BJVVGlG1I

11.01.2022 We are abundantly blessed to be able to join together on a Sunday morning for worship together in our outdoor chapel. We don’t take this for granted and we thank God for enabling this to happen. We know that some of you have not been able to join us, whether that be distance or health. We miss you! Did you know that you can go to the Caloundra Salvos website and click on the links to listen to the podcasts? 11.01.2022 This Sunday after church we invite you to join us for a picnic in the park. It’s a great way to get to know each other and share in fellowship.

11.01.2022 This Sunday morning we are planning to meet in our back hall, rather than in the outdoor chapel. This is due to the expected wet weather. After having a number of rainy days already this week, it is quite soggy underfoot! Seating numbers are limited inside, but we will be able to utilise the mezzanine, the playground area and the entrance area beside the roller doors as an overflow. It has been wonderful sharing in fellowship together over the last two Sundays, but a reminder here - we ask you to be safe and consider what is best for your own health.

11.01.2022 We’ve got a lovely little family of ducks wandering from pond to pond here at Sugar Bag Road. Please slow down and take care in the car park.

09.01.2022 Here’s Tim after a trip to Meridan College this morning to collect a donation of food. Thanks to the students and families who were participating in this project. We appreciate your generosity. These items will certainly be used to help people in our community that need a hand.

08.01.2022 We’re out in the sunshine enjoying a spot of fishing. Family Fishing Club is a favourite event. Put 27th August down on your calendar for the next one.

06.01.2022 Today I was joined by Zed Seselja, Assist. Minister for Finance, Charities and Electoral Matters and Senator for the ACT, via ZOOM together with local not-for-p...rofits and charities from around the Sunshine Coast to speak about the issues they are facing during these difficult times. I was blown away by the extent to which our local community groups have innovated and collaborated through these past few months. While they have been forced to make changes, as we all have, they have adjusted to the pandemic and ensured their services have continued - truly impressive. 06.01.2022 What an absolutely beautiful day it was today! How blessed are we to live in such a great place and have a church setting like this? Today we were able to join together in our outdoor chapel, in the surrounding grounds and in the top of our car park, and on the deck (gallery seating) for our Sunday morning meeting. Some of our Corps folk are still unable to join us and we certainly missed you today. We look forward to seeing you soon. The children were part of our service ...today and we were so impressed with how attentive you were, and thank our kids’ leaders for planning some great in-church activities. You have all grown up in the time we have been apart, and we hope you realise just how special you are to us Next week, we know that you will enjoy your KIDZONE time together. It’s unbelievable, that it has been 16 weeks since we last met together in our chapel. At that time things were only starting to unfold with COVID-19 restrictions. It was an atmosphere of great joy and thankfulness to our mighty God as we met today. Lord, you have done such great things! Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness. Psalms 145:3 NLT And to our friends in other churches and other Corps who cannot yet meet in a physical way, and especially to our Victorian friends, we will be praying for you as you await this time when you can experience the joy of being back together.

03.01.2022 What a blessing it is to have our local schools support our Christmas efforts. A huge shout out to Currimundi State School students, staff and families for your generosity.

03.01.2022 Here is the video from last week’s Sunday morning meeting. https://youtu.be/txsFMVWJbbw

02.01.2022 A cheery greeting to you all from a slightly damp chapel today. We have had a few people ask if there is a wet-weather plan in case it rains on Sunday. Yes. There is. We aim to move to the deck and into the back hall if it is raining. ... Of course, if you have any concerns about being outdoors, or are in any way unwell, you may like to have the morning at home. I know that’s going to be hard but we don’t want anyone to rush into returning if you’re not ready. We are hoping (of course) that it will be a typical sunshine-filled pleasant winter’s day on Sunday. Either way, we will be here ready to worship.

02.01.2022 Have you taken care of your will? For $70 we can help Most of us don't think about it very often, but having a good Will is the simplest way to make sure the people who matter to us are taken care of when we're gone. And it doesn't have to be difficult or costly. ... The Salvos offer a community service in which generous and independent local solicitors prepare simple Wills in exchange for a $70 ($120 per couple) contribution to our work. It's a great way to ensure you have a Will that reflects your wishes, while also supporting Australians in need. Community Will Day - Friday 9th October 2020 @ The Salvation Army Caloundra, 119 Sugar Bag Road, Little Mountain Appointments will be available between 9am and 4pm. Call 1800 337 082 or 0417 492 541 to book your appointment. Email [email protected] or book online at salvationarmy.org.au/willsday
