25.01.2022 Link to this weekends Scripture reflections: ifm.org.au/laurieblog There is a variety of verbs in Hebrew for forgiving and they all carry the notion of releasing, setting free, giving a lift, letting go... We surrender something of ourselves when we set another person free through the act of forgiving. 19.01.2022 Link to this weekends Scripture reflections: ifm.org.au/laurieblog Consider that the parables came from the imagination of Jesus, so, we need to read or hear them with imagination. Every parable contains a mixture of detail along with big picture scope. The pennies will drop only for those who are open to the unpredictable moves of the Spirit. 13.01.2022 Link to this weekends Scripture reflections: ifm.org.au/laurieblog So many times in the gospels we find Jesus dispelling fear. 12.01.2022 Link to this weekend’s Scripture reflections: ifm.org.au/laurieblog Jesus is addressing a common notion, put forward by the religious leaders of his day, that people who endure physical and mental suffering are being punished as sinners. His attitude is that this equation is not valid. One can be in a state of suffering and still be close to God, still be part of the Kingdom of God.
