23.01.2022 A notice about Subject Selection: Next week all students in Years 8 and 10 will be given a unique username and passcode so that they can select their 2021 subjects online. Students will then need to print the form and have it signed by a parent/carer and place in a box in the front office. If students do not have access to a printer they can print their forms in the library. 20.01.2022 Where were you 20 years ago on 15th September, 2000? Campbelltown Performing Arts High School Dancers and Circus students were performing at the Olympic Stadium in the Opening Ceremony! Over 40 of our own students rehearsed for many months, with the support of Ms Leary, past staff and parent support from Lisa Sucteri. Everyone at school was behind them to ensure one of the most memorable events of a lifetime.... Our students performed in 'Eternity', 'Awakenings' & 'Tin Symphony' segments, as well as in'My Island Home' with Christine Anu in the Closing Ceremony.

20.01.2022 Language is an important platform to pass on cultural knowledge and heritage. This year, a number of Year 7 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students were selected to be a part of an ongoing vocal workshop that coincides with the unit of work that focuses on Australian Music. Students have been learning and practising the song Ngarra Burra Ferra', by the Yorta Yorta People, a song that was made popular in the film The Sapphires. Students selected to learn Ngarra Burra Ferra, will have the opportunity to teach a new cohort of students this song, and hopefully perform at the NAIDOC Week Celebration Assembly. This is a wonderful opportunity made possible by Mr Gatehau from the Aboriginal Education faculty as well as a number of staff from the Performing Arts faculty. #EdWeek20

16.01.2022 Learning Together in PDHPE has been a challenge that we have overcome! For a subject that revolves around relationships, connection to others, teamwork and communication, online learning was definitely a challenge. The PDHPE Faculty put on their thinking caps and were able to ensure both staff and students were active and healthy during this time as well as continuing their learning in the subject. Students in Year 7-10 participated in online practical lessons and sporting ...activities led by their teachers as well as students completed project-based learning tasks from home including; creating a socially distanced sport, teaching themselves a new skill and designing a fitness circuit for their family to participate in. Feedback from students told us that they really enjoyed exploring their neighbourhood in some of the activities and were able to get their families actively involved in a number of the online practical challenges. We hope you enjoy sharing our students achievements! #EdWeek20 See more

12.01.2022 Learning Together in Science happens regularly. Here are some examples. Year 9 students are currently completing an integrated Science/History unit called Blast from the Past. The Chemical World and the Nuclear Age Units provide students with a platform to learn about the historical events and perspectives of the nuclear age and the effects in the scientific world. Students use a timeline as a collaborative platform where they can track historical events relevant to the ...discovery of atoms, elements and the periodic table. Year 8 STEM students are currently working through a unit called Kids Science TV Show which gives students the opportunity to engage in a variety of branches of science. They are learning about the scientific method and how scientists plan and conduct experiments safely and reliably within the laboratory. The Year 8 STEM photos show students displaying the products of their chromatography experiment. This experiment shows how colours can be separated into other colours based on their physical and chemical properties. The Year 11 Biology students have actively participated in the making of the Year 10 subject selection showcase video. They articulated the usefulness of Biology in the real world and the amount of rigour and organisation that goes into the coursework. Students have already learned about cells, organs and systems are now learning about living organisms and their interactions with the environment. Year 11 Biology students have participated in the first virtual excursion for their ecological field study in Term 3. #EdWeek20

07.01.2022 Learning Together in Mathematics This year has provided some unique challenges and opportunities for our mathematics students. However, now that our students are fluently using our online learning platforms, they are now working together and using flipped classroom resources to build their knowledge and skills wherever they are learning. Mr Morgans Year 11 Advanced Mathematics students completed a unit of work on Trigonometry mostly online. They accessed resources such a...s videos explaining concepts and online graphing tools, and they communicated with each other and their teacher using Microsoft teams. When they came back to school, in the first lesson they had together in their classroom, they were able to work together to share their knowledge and solve complex three-dimensional problems collaboratively using concrete materials to help them visualise the real-world scenario they were investigating. Some students used the board to work with others and review in detail the concepts the class had been working with. Some constructed models of a three-dimensional problem and worked together to find missing heights and angles from the limited information they were given. All of them had fun, including their teacher! #EdWeek20
