22.01.2022 As we celebrate the Resurrection, may we bear witness to all that Jesus does in our lives. May we have the courage to walk towards the tomb in the dark like Mary Magdalene. And may we proclaim His presence wherever our 'Galilee' is...Happy Easter!

22.01.2022 On Friday evening the Vietnamese Catholic Community at Inala welcomed the Lunar New Year with Mass and dinner. Bishop Ken Howell celebrated the Mass. It was a joy to celebrate together with the community.

22.01.2022 Today we celebrate World Day of Prayer for Vocations. Pope Francis reminds us, "Taking the right course is not something we do on our own, nor does it depend solely on the road we choose to travel. How we find fulfilment in life is more than a decision we make as isolated individuals; above all else, it is a response to a call from on high. The Lord points out our destination on the opposite shore and he grants us the courage to board the boat. In calling us, he accompanies and guides us and even enables us to walk on surging waters." Let us pray today in a special way for young women and men that they might have the courage to respond to God's call as He invites each one of us to push out into the deep, trusting Him with our lives.

21.01.2022 Feast of St Josephine Bakhita and World Day of Prayer, Reflection and Action Against Human Trafficking. Today, people all around the world are celebrating this ...powerful saint and joining in prayer and action against human trafficking. Josephine Bakhita was born in Southern Sudan in 1869, and during her life experienced kidnapping and slavery in both Sudan and Italy. After gaining her freedom Josephine dedicated her life to sharing her story and to supporting the poor and suffering. She eventually became a Canossian Sister and was canonised in 2000. In the words of Pope Francis, "She is charged with showing to all the path to conversion, which enables us to change the way we see our neighbours, to recognise in every other person a brother or sister in our human family, and to acknowledge his or her intrinsic dignity in truth and freedom . . . This saint, who lived at the turn of the twentieth century, is even today an exemplary witness of hope for the many victims of slavery; she can support the efforts of all those committed to fighting against this open wound on the body of contemporary society, a scourge upon the body of Christ." We invite you to join us today in praying for all victims of human trafficking and for those working to bring an end to this "open wound" on our society. St Josephine Bakhita, pray for us and our world today. ACRATH (Australian Catholic Religious Against Trafficking in Humans) is the organization in Australia doing fabulous work. They need our support and prayers. Visit their website @ www.acrath.org.au

21.01.2022 Today as we remember the death of Jesus, we call to mind His greatest love that led Him to the cross for us. As we stand at the foot of the cross, let us never forget that light will overcome darkness, life will overcome death, and that we are loved by God more than we can ever imagine.

Congratulations Sr. Amelia for 25 years of making Jesus known and loved.

19.01.2022 Today we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows. As the world continues to grapple with COVID-19, we stand in solidarity with those who mourn and suffer, serving to be beacons of hope for them in these difficult times. This is not a hope that depends on a specific outcome or cure for coronavirus, rather a hope that trusts in a person Jesus Christ. May our hope be born at the foot of the cross as we sit and contemplate the Greatest Love. Happy Feast!

17.01.2022 Today we celebrate Palm Sunday, beginning our intentional journey towards the cross and resurrection of Jesus. As we walk through this week in new ways this year, may our physical isolation unite us with the solitude of Jesus. And may we prepare our hearts to enter into the moment of Greatest Love with deeper trust in His promise, that light will overcome darkness and life will overcome death. Have a blessed Holy Week.
