22.01.2022 Hello friends, Im really happy to announce that Ill be teaching The Artists Sketchbook workshop in Emu Park for the Emu Park Gallery. The workshop will run over two consecutive Saturdays: 12th and 19th of September from 1pm to 4.30pm each day. The workshop is ideal for those just beginning to keep a sketchbook, or to people who havent even begun yet! 22.01.2022 The Seductive Collagraph workshop is now happening! Peta Lloyd is showing eight budding printmakers the ropes, demonstrating how you can cut, tear, carve, scratch, brush - so many things - to make collagraph printing plates. So many new things to learn! Did you know that collagraphy is a printmaking process introduced in 1955 by Glen Alps in which materials are applied to a rigid substrate (such as paperboard or wood)? The word is derived from the Greek word koll or kolla, meaning glue, and graph, meaning the activity of drawing. You will also create prints onto luggage tags and recycled papers to be used for gift tags and wrapping papers. This work was inspired by colloquialisms which make references to water like ‘keeping your head above water’, ‘out of your depth’, ‘treading water’, ‘drifting with the tide’ and of course, ‘up the proverbial creek without a paddle’. . In the current world climate, many people from certain areas and post codes are struggling to keep their heads above water during lockdown and in isolation. As world and country borders become more rigidly defined, many stateless people are left high and dry in their search for a post code. .
