20.01.2022 Staying strong and united amid uncertainty has been at the forefront of many LSV actions taken over the past few months in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Wh...ilst it hasnt been an easy time all of us have seen our usual lives and livelihoods upended in one way or another - it has also been a time that has seen us leap into action to help maintain the health and wellbeing of our members, volunteers, staff, licensees, partners, participants and the broader public. In response to the need to adapt to a new 'normal', we have developed a range of new resources and tools to educate and inform our diverse membership and community base. Here's an overview: #lifesaving #covid19response #inthistogether

18.01.2022 VALE LORRAINE ARROWSMITH Carrum Surf Life Saving Club offers its sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Lorraine Arrowsmith, who sadly passed away on Friday 21 August. Lorraine was a passionate member of Carrum SLSC and provided growth and inspiration to many generations of lifesavers in her roles as Chief Instructor and Junior Instructor.... At Carrum SLSC she also held the roles of Club Captain 1979-1980 and President in 1982. Lorraine was awarded Club Champion in 1981. Her service to lifesaving extended to a state level, where she was an examiner, delegate to the RLSSAV State Council, representative to the South Eastern Beaches Association and a member of the state competition board. As a competitive beach sprinter, she represented Carrum at the RLSSAV State Championships from 1978 to 1986 during which time she was on the podium every year she represented us in the O25 through to O40 age categories. Lorraines dedication to our club is illustrated by her life membership at Carrum SLSC. Her service to the State saw her awarded the Commonwealth Certificate of Thanks in 1978 and Commonwealth Recognition Badge in 1984. A much admired and respected member of the lifesaving community, she will be sadly missed. Life Saving Victoria Royal Life Saving Society - Australia

18.01.2022 As the mercury rises, you can expect to see Victoria Police out and about at the places you love to enjoy sun, sand and socialising. From the shore to the subur...bs and parklands, officers will be working hard to keep you safe and hold anyone engaging in anti-social behaviour to account. We know many people will be particularly keen to get outside and enjoy the sunshine over the coming days but police ask that you to do so safely. Police will not allow anyone to engage in criminal or disruptive behaviour, particularly those that have a negative impact on the rest of the community. Local police will be well supported by state-based resources such as the Mounted Branch, Public Order Response Team and Water Police to detect and deter any offending. So if you’re out and about (adhering to the directions of the Chief Health Officer of course!) be sure to say 'g’day' to our patrols who will be focussed on keeping beaches, shopping and entertainment precincts and nearby public transport hubs safe. #OpSummersafe

01.01.2022 We ask all of our followers to Please share. Our Brigade has a family connection to Malcom and like his family are very concerned for his well-being. Our membe...rs have also been involved in the search along with SES and Victoria Police. Malcom Bohmeyer is still missing! His family are reaching out to anyone within the Langwarrin, Frankston and surrounding suburbs to please continue to keep an eye out for 71 year old Malcom who was last seen 5 weeks ago, on Wednesday the 12th August riding his bike in and around the Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve. He left his home on Cranbourne Road at approx 1.30pm, the last cctv footage of Malcom was at the rear of Burdetts Landscaping on Mclelland Rd, Langwarrin at 2.07pm, from there it seems he may have crossed the footbridge to get onto the Peninsula Link Trail, but that is where we lose any further sightings/information of Malcoms whereabouts. Malcom suffers from Parkinsons disease and would be completely disoriented without his medication. He was on a blue and black mountain bike with a distinctive black basket on the front which has also have not been located. He was wearing grey tracksuit pants, a black long sleeve T-shirt, and a blue bike helmet. If anyone comes across Malcom or his bike, or has any information however big or small, you are urged to please contact Frankston Police Station or Crimestoppers.

01.01.2022 No puns or flowery language today- just this message, crystal clear: We are here. We are ready. We are safe.

01.01.2022 Charles Bean landed with the Australian troops on Gallipoli on April 25, 1915. He stayed with them at the front through the entire war, refusing evacuation when he was wounded. At Pozieres the following year he was witness to 23,000 Australian casualties in just six weeks. A dying Australian asked him, Will they remember me in Australia?". We remember them by observing one minute's silence at 11am on the 11th of November for Remembrance Day. By observing one minute's silence... we pay tribute to the men and women who have served and are still serving in our defence forces and remember those who have died or suffered in conflicts, wars and peacekeeping operations. #WeRememberThem
