25.01.2022 Suffering from zoom fatigue? Hope the following article will help. Here are some more BONUS tips: - Grab an old fashioned paper-based Bible, read and mark it where God is speaking to you. Better still, get a margin Bible and write notes! - Go out for a short walk (even if it is raining) to reconnect with God and pray for your family, friends, MC siblings, church elders and deacons, etc.... - Close your eyes and listen to quiet reflective classical music without words (NOT podcasts or audible!) or play a worship song and sing along out loud since we can no longer sing congregationally. 13.01.2022 Just read this article. I like how the author equates refraining from singing in worship during COVID-19 as p[ractising the spiritual discipline of fasting as well as loving one another. When we fast the resulting hunger moves and motivates us to hunger for and fasten more onto God. So instead of reacting in self-righteous rebellion or entitled anger, we simply and humbly accept, yea even embrace, the way of suffering as a new formative pathway to greater and higher Christl...ikeness. Our search for temporal emotional happiness transforms into the cultivation of eternal spiritual joy. Doesnt every dark moment in our lives highlight the light of our Lord in our hearts? Also the teaches us to learn to see the bigger & fuller picture of true worship as more than just mere singing. Maybe we can take turns on Sundayto get up on stage to read and speak the blessing of a Psalm or share a lectio divina to each other as mutual FelloWorship-ing. Romans 12:1 reminds us that worship is also spiritual service or ministry. But what about the emotional empowerment & encouragement of CO-PRESENCE. Oh how we have UNDER-valued physical proximity and fellowship as partnership as part of our divine design. Last but not least there must be other creative and innovative ways to worship and serve our almighty God. I would dearly love to hear from you any and every idea God sparks in your thoughts on how we can practically worship God without singing on Sundays and the next 6 days.
