20.01.2022 One of our most large scale projects to date for the Bibra Lake Regional Playground for the City of Cockburn, where we were approached to make some large concrete turtles to be installed into the playground. Massive thanks to Mark Stocks and his team at HGN Design for their immense expertise in Jesmonite and assistance during the casting process , Tromes Design for their 6 axis CNC work and MG Group WA on site.
19.01.2022 Some photos of our interactive elements work we had made for the Perth Zoo to go into their Zoo HQ interactive zone, which was to give kids and the general public an insight of what goes on behind the scenes in the zoos breed-for-release programs, veterinary hospital and preparation of food and behavioral enrichment for the animals. Kids can interact with elements like RFID scanned food trays that when placed inside the feeder would result in animal sound to play. The trays were topped with food meticulously molded and cast from using real food products and then painted by our in house team.

18.01.2022 After 6 Months fabrication for the City of Cockburn, Our final installation for the Bibra Lake Playground has been installed. Massive thanks to Mark Stocks and Andy Dickinson at HGN design whose experience allowed CDM to completely trust a new material (to us) Jesmonite, at such a scale. Pulling on a long heritage of Moulding and Casting allowed CDM:Studio up to step away from a standard approach and deliver a finished project that match the council approved artwork 100%. ... Big thanks to Carlo Menchetti head of MG Group WA builder, a who allowed CDM:Studio the space to develop a new fabrication process.
17.01.2022 CDM:Studio produced A Gift for the Western Australian Museum to give to Sir David Attenborough whilst he was on tour in WA. Gogo fish was named after Sir David as "Materpiscis attenboroughi" We are also currently painting up two more versions starting from clear resin
17.01.2022 Some silicone Beef carcasses commissioned by the Perth Zoo to go into their Zoo HQ interactive play area. Made from the molding and casting of a real piece of meat from the butchers by our in house mold making team and painted by CDM:Studio with the assistance of Perth based makeup and special effects artist Freakmo, Instagram:@freakmofx
16.01.2022 Throwback Thursday! In 2016 CDM:Studio was approached by the WA Museum to install their Muttaburrasaurus and Diprotodon skeletons at the Perth Concert Hall. The project involved CDM having to handle the installation of the museums collection rigging and installing the skeletons to the site. We built the plinths at our studio. 13.01.2022 Most of CDMs large scale Jesmonite, GFRC & fibreglass projects start as digital sculpts. This allows for government, councils & clients to sign off. Eoin our digital sculptor takes into account bases and lifting points. After approval and material certification the sculpts get divided and cut on our in-house CNC machine

01.01.2022 An update on what weve been doing at Bibra Lake Regional Playground for the City of Cockburn Weve molded,cast and painted a new baby turtle and had it installed on the back of the already existing long neck turtle all within the span of a week, Just in time for school holidays and Christmas break.... Big shout outs again to Mark stocks and HGN Design designs for letting us cast the turtle in Jesmonite using their mold making facilities.
