23.01.2022 Well London .... so far you’ve been a proper good time, though I doubt if one can have anything but a good time in London! From your sunny skies to endless street maps and stylish & intricate structures, you have been so delightful. Oh I even saw Lizzie, Charlie, Will, Harry, Kate, Meghan & Camilla who were all hanging out at the incredibly moving Remembrance Day Service at the Cenotaph #TCconf19 #London #royalist

23.01.2022 Delayed .... not cancelled! I'm quite sure none of us signed up for this type of adventure in 2020 but here we are ... fire, floods & COVID! I know we’re all reading and hearing more and more heartache every day, but we have been shown that we are fragile and things can and are, often, out of our control. At this time, I just want to reach out to you all and say, we can get through this and we will. Travel will resume again one day soon, the sacrifice is so real now, but we... will bounce back and there will be a wonderful silver lining. For now, as we face our new normal for the next little bit, I pray you’ll all adjust and get through with family and friends around you (social distancing applies haha) to remind you that humans are quite remarkable, resilient and kind. Reach out for a chat, anytime, I’m always here, and one day I anticipate helping you all explore our beautiful world once more. G xx

20.01.2022 It's true, I am in love with travel I do love my husband very much as well but we're not Valentines Day people, sorry if I disapoint you! Are you the 'bring it on' type or the 'whatever' type like me when it comes to Valentines Day? Feel free to swing by with roses anytime though

19.01.2022 H A P P Y N E W Y E A R 2019 was a perfectly imperfect year and a little bit crazy and unexpected in many ways - perhaps you can relate? But it's a new year, a new decade and a chance for new beginings. It's also the chance for new places and experiences to be enjoyed with friends and family. So press on, make plans, take trips and have a blessed, safe and joy-filled 2020. ... In the words of C.S Lewis, I hope 'There are far better things AHEAD than any you leave behind'. Where do you think 2020 will take you? Glenda x

11.01.2022 It’s been a tough few weeks for all travel agents; however I am so thankful to be part of a family of agents who love, support and laugh with each other through these really horrid times. I firmly believe our wonderful industry will come out of this looking brighter than ever but for now we must wait for that silver lining and STAY HOME! #MyTC #TravelCounsellors G xx

07.01.2022 Fuel prices dropped to a record amount. Self-distancing measures on a rise. Tape on the floors at food stores and others to help distance shoppers 2m (6ft) from each other. Limited number of people inside stores, therefore lineups outside the store doors. Non-essential stores and businesses mandated closed.... Parks, beaches and skate parks closed . Entire sports seasons cancelled. Olympics postponed. Concerts, tours, festivals, entertainment events - cancelled. Weddings, family celebrations, holiday gatherings - cancelled. Funerals limited to children/parents/spouses of deceased. No other family or friends. No masses, churches are closed. Schools are open but only for students to medical staff and essential workers children . No gatherings permitted. No more than 2 people together walking for exercise (excluding family you live with) Don't socialize with anyone outside of your home. Not allowed out of home only for exercise, groceries, medical reasons . We are to distance from each other. Shortage of masks, gowns, gloves for our front-line workers. Shortage of respirators for the critically ill. Panic buying sets in and we have no toilet paper, no disinfecting supplies, no paper towel no laundry soap, no hand sanitizer. Shelves are bare. Manufacturers, distilleries and other businesses switch their lines to help make visors, masks, hand sanitizer and PPE. Government closes the border to all non essential travel and makes it mandatory to self isolate for 14 days when returning. Fines are established for breaking the rules. Fines for those price-gauging others. Press conferences daily from the Prime Minister (Scott Morrison) and NSW Premier ( Gladys Berejiklian ) Barely anyone in the street or on the roads. People wearing masks and gloves outside. Essential service workers are terrified to go to work. Medical workers are afraid to go home to their families. Many people lost there jobs and on Centrelink for first time in ther life so many financial strategies put in place to help people . Childcare free for 6 months for workers . They say it started in Wuhan, China at a seafood market. Hundreds of thousands affected, dead, dying, critically ill. Many recovered and many sadly didn’t . This is the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) Pandemic, declared March 11th, 2020. Why, you ask, do I write this status? One day it will show up in my memory feed, and it will be a yearly reminder that life is precious. To not take the things we dearly love for granted. We have so much! Be thankful. Be grateful. Be kind to each other - love one another - support everyone. Together we are stronger. Together we will get through this. COPY AND SHARE

07.01.2022 My Colleague, Lani, Puts some much needed perspective on the topic of current conversation ... Coronavirus! With the change in Smart Traveller's status on a couple more countries this week I've found the level of concern from customers has risen somewhat and whilst no one is denying it is cause for concern and we may need to reconsider travel to some regions for the moment, overall many parts of the world are still fine to travel to. This article does a great crunching of th...e numbers at present and hopefully helps to alleviate some nerves out there! Here at Travel Counsellors we now also have a dedicated Coronavirus team who are monitoring the situation daily and keeping in touch with individual Travel Counsellors and their customers on a needs basis and as travel advisories change in various countries, so you can rest assured you are in good hands. And of course keep an eye on the Smart Traveller website rather than fear mongering news bulletins - Smart Traveller only gives factual, evidence based advice and is updated constantly, so if you need to see what's happening in a country you plan to visit soon, that's the best place to start.

04.01.2022 Had the most INSPIRING day yesterday celebrating International Women's Day (don't worry guys, your day comes around in November) with some of the travel industries most inspiring, powerful, authentic and hilarious leaders. Considering the current challenges the travel industry is facing it was so encouraging to hear that 'this too will pass' (just like SARS passed, just like Swine Flu passed and just like Ecoli passed) and the silver lining will come. How will you celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th 2020? Cheers to the beautiful souls charging forward and making way for change. #aforceforgood #beaforceforgood #wendywuweloveyou

04.01.2022 LOVE this ... it takes me way back to my childhood My first EVER flight (that I remember) was to Gove NT in the early 80's to visit cousins. I'm pretty sure we flew with TAA so that's really going waaaaaaaaaaaaay back! Where was your first flight to?

03.01.2022 Cappadocia, Turkey 4 months ago we were all blissfully unaware of what awaited us in 2020 ... I was witness to the hot air balloons rippling through the Rose Valley in Cappadocia, where nearly 100 of these colourful balloons take flight over the lunar landscape everyday. Imagine how peaceful this experience would be, just the sound of the balloons being fired up throughout the otherwise silent valley! I love travel and I believe we all need a bit of inspiration in these craz...y times. Even if you are not ready to book your holiday right now, after all this craziness you might be My next go to place is Thailand for a special family celebration in December but beyond that my family dream of going to Chile (the Wine Valley, Santiago, Pisco Elqui, Carretera Austral etc, New Zealand, USA & Skiing in Canada) ....tell me below where do you want to go? G xx
