23.01.2022 I'm sure we all feel this way about COVID-19 what is happening to this world

22.01.2022 This was the article that went viral in western sydney health news web. To my surprise it amazingly reached 5.1k likes. Behind this happy story was a amazing do...ctor which i give her my 100% credit for me giving birth to my miracle baby. I thank god that god lead me to indika alahakoon. I was presented to indika as being a first time pregnant woman whom has been trying to fall pregnant for 14yrs with a family history of having pregnancy complications of incompetent cervix. In my first meeting with Indika, Indika quickly classed my pregnancy as a precious case pregnancy putting me at instant relief of her listening to what i had to say. Indika decided not to take risk and gave me the ok to stitch my cervix up when i was to reach 14 weeks even though it was my first pregnancy ever to take place. Thankfully i reached 14 weeks and i had my stitch put in place even though my cervix was still long and my pregnancy was classed as normal. To my shock i was seeing indika every second week with everything running smoothly and my cervix still being long in length until Indika noticed after reviewing my 19 week ultrasound that my cervix shockingly had funneled at a fast rate with me only having a centimeter of cervix left until in reached the stitch. By indika just listening at our first meeting and her making the choice to stitch my cervix up at 14 weeks saved me from having a miscarriage. On the news of my funneled cervix i was admitted to the high risk section at westmead hospital under the watchful eye of a great doctor and a great team of nurses my baby survived and i had the chance to give birth to a joy of miracle. To end my post i want describe Indika the best way i can in two words which is SHEER BRILLIANCE. I dearly thank Indikas great team of staff and the high risk nurses at westmead public hospital See more

20.01.2022 Dr Indika Alahakoon highly recommends the FLU VACCINE for all pregnant women. Please contact your local GP or Chemist to get your vaccine A flu shot decreases your risk of getting the flu during your pregnancy. Prevent potential fetal health problems due to the flu. Having a fever caused by the flu early in pregnancy might increase the risk of fetal birth defects. Protect your baby after birth. The vaccine can be done at any time in your pregnancy.

10.01.2022 We would like to share the inspiration behind the Centre for Womens Ultrasound Logo - The triple spiral Derived from the Greek word "Triskeles" meaning "three legs", the Triskele or Triple Spiral is a complex ancient Celtic symbol signifying many cyclical triplicities of life including the three stages of womanhood-maiden, mother, matriarch. We hoped to provide an expert caring service to women of all three stages and have continued to do so in the last 11 years

03.01.2022 Yesterday Dr Alahakoon and Centre for Womens Ultrasound staff had the opportunity to give back to our community by cooking for the families at Ronald McDonald house in Westmead. Westmead House provides a safe place to stay for around 1,360 families per year. It was a fantastic experience cooking for 60 families tonight. All the CFWU staff loved meeting some of the inspiring and strong families at RMH and wish all the children happy, healthy futures.

02.01.2022 Please contact us to re book your appointment if you have travelled in the last 14 days or have any of these following symptoms. Thank you Centre For Womens Ultrasound

02.01.2022 Coronavirus: People arriving in New South Wales from Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand are being asked by ...the states health department to monitor their respiratory symptoms or fever. If symptoms develop, immediately isolate yourself and call your doctor or health direct 1800 022 222 for an assessment - Dr Kerry Chant - NSW Chief Medical Officer. NSW Health Statement: In line with national advice, NSW Health today urged people returning from Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand to be vigilant in monitoring themselves for respiratory symptoms or fever. In addition to the outbreak in mainland China, there are increasing reports of transmission of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) or the potential for outbreaks in these countries. NSW Health has daily telephone conferences with the Commonwealth and other states and territories to ensure a national process to assess the risk associated with travel and for developing consistent advice. The Commonwealth Department of Health website is regularly updated with the latest health and travel advice. Travellers should check SmartTraveller web site. NSW Chief Health Officer, Dr Kerry Chant said symptoms may be very mild, and include fever, cough, sore throat, or shortness of breath. If symptoms develop, immediately isolate yourself and call your doctor or health direct 1800 022 222 for an assessment, Dr Chant said. If you have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, or returned from mainland China you must self-isolate for 14 days since last contact or departure from mainland China. Please avoid gatherings if you have been in contact with suspect cases in countries where there have been outbreaks, Dr Chant said. NSW Health provides up-to-date information on COVID-19 on its website and will continue to advise the community of developments. I want to stress there is still no evidence of community transmission of COVID-19 in Australia, Dr Chant said. This advice is to protect the community and the health of individuals who have visited higher risk international destinations. Practising good hand and sneeze/cough hygiene is the best defence against most viruses. www.7NEWS.com.au #coronavirus #7NEWS
