24.01.2022 Day 1 of the Gold Coast course and we have discussed the Levels of learning, Paying Attention and whether the brain can change. Thank you to all the students for their sharing, a great start in developing rapport and open dialogue. This course is going to be an awesome experience in personal growth development and understanding.

23.01.2022 Module 1 completed on the Gold Coast. An awesome group of students, totally engaged, open and learning a great deal about themselves and the application of the information they have uncovered through the HBDI. Reading to be done to ensure I keep learning about myself as well.

22.01.2022 Having reached the age where many Baby Boomer public servants in Canberra are settling into retirement I have taken the time to reflect on the fact I still want to work and enjoy making a contribution to society. I realise I am one of the 10% of "Boomers" who do not plan to retire. There is still work to be done! My change from sports coaching to the workforce coaching has been driven by personal experiences in previous work situations where management personnel did not h...ave the skills to maintain environments where their subordinates could excel and be engaged with their work. The Diploma of Leadership Coaching and Mentoring has changed the way I look at people and my understanding of the methods used to provide support in their future endeavours. This Diploma makes a difference! Got time for a coffee? Let me know if you are interested and I will gladly share further thoughts and explain what we will cover if you enrol in the Diploma Course which starts here in Canberra on September 14th. Check it out on our website: www.jigsaw.edu.au and click on the Coaching tab.

20.01.2022 Stage 2 of the Nippon Sports Sciene University Coach Development Program for Asia complete! It has been a pleasure to see the progress this group of coaches has made and observe the Asian para-games in Jakarta. Congratulations to coaches from Napal, Maldives, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Brunei. Remember to plan and review, succes lies in the near future.

18.01.2022 Last weekend I had the privilege to meet some of Australia's finest citizens. The Invictus Games 2017 squad, which is made up of current and past serving defense personnel who have sustained an injury, was training in Canberra and I was delighted to be asked to provide some support in the area of performance. The Australian sports industry could learn from this group. Whilst few could be classed as elite performers at this stage, their tenacity, resilience and willingness ...to "have a fair dinkum crack" was evident through the weekend. Whilst many Australian sporting teams are searching for the "performance culture" the men and women of the Australian Invictus Games Squad lead the way. Support for each other was evident. None more so than when athletes were undertaking performance measures on the rowing ergo, the Watt bike, in the pool or on the track. Athletes who were covered in sweat and grimacing were encouraged and cheered on until there was nothing left to give, it was "their very best effort!" These service men and women have taken time away from their families to train in preparation for deployments just in case they get called up to defend the values of we who sleep in our own beds each night surrounded by our families. Many come back from deployments and are changed forever. So here is my very first call to the Australian community to get behind this team. I am honoured to know this group, and will do what I can to support them prepare for the 2017 Invictus Games. And next year we get to see them in our backyard when the Invictus Games comes to Sydney.

15.01.2022 Get behind School Sport! Last week School Sport ACT hosted the School Sport Australia U17 National Gold Championships. Yet again a sporting event provided a showcase of talent and leadership. Congratulations to all those who supported the event or took part in it. Convener Chris Jones was exemplary in the leadership he provided to ensure these championships were conducted in a professional manner. Leadership displays itself in many ways, and Chris' style is calm, method...ical and confident. A huge thanks Chris for being the outstanding leader you are. School sport throughout Australia has many teachers who provide students with the opportunities to pursue their sporting goals. This is done in addition to their teaching loads and without them school sport would not happen. Each year hundreds of children across Australia share the joy of representing their school, and their states or territories, and many of them will go on to represent Australia. It often starts at school with a teacher providing support to "give it a go". As part of this journey, students learn about commitment, discipline, appropriate conduct and cooperation. Are there better things to teach our children? Keep up the great work teachers, our sporting future rests with your passion. For those wishing to learn more about leadership and how to improve your skills, drop me a message, I would love to share your journey with you.

11.01.2022 What a pleasure to share the company of this outstanding group of women who are shaping their futures with new found knowledge about their thinking preferences, emotional intelligence and knowing when to reach out to others. Proud of all you achieved this weekend ladies.

07.01.2022 I have been absent for some time now and for good reason. During the past twelve months I have completed the Diploma of Leadership Coaching and Mentoring and taken time to gain a deeper understanding of who I am in order to be an authentic trainer for students enrolled in the course under the Jigsaw banner. What a journey it has been. I am committed to living a life of non-judgement and viewing people with unconditional positive regard. Having learnt what this meant was on...e thing, to live it is another thing altogether. Now that I have a better understanding of self my challenge is to assist others discover who they really are, what their core values are and how to live with clarity. As a coach this requires the ability to develop rapport with a client and share their journey of discovery, it is not about what I know or what I think I should be telling them. In short, letting go of my ego and focusing on the creative and resourceful client. If you are at a cross roads or unsure of your direction take the time to check out the coaching options available through www.jigsawconsultinggroup.edu.au or drop me a message so I can share more information with you. Only when you know yourself can you be truly authentic.

06.01.2022 2016 Diploma of Leadership Coaching and mentoring now underway in Brisbane. This course brings out the best in people, know yourself through education and then bring out the best in others, the world will be a better place.

06.01.2022 The 2016 National Officials Scholarships Induction Camp was conducted last week on the Gold Coast. The "next best" 22 officials from 8 Australian sports were introduced to profiling, understanding high performance and providing leadership as an official. Our sports are in good hands. Given 2016 is the Olympic and Paralympic year, we should consider the approach the athletes and coaches take in reaching their goals. Planning is essential for performance, and being able to execute when it matters is critical. Ask yourself what you are doing to enhance your business environment. Does your plan include processes for improving the emotional intelligence of your organisation and therefore increasing your Psychological capital? The performance of your organisation or business may rely on it.

05.01.2022 I have been fortunate to be involved with many Australian Teams over the past 4 decades. Assisting with the preparation of the 2018 Australian Invictus Games Team has been a highlight. I have seen first hand the sacrifice these individuals make to enable the rest of us in Australia to live the lives we do. I urge all Australians to reflect on our quality of life and say thanks next time you meet someone who serves in our defense forces. They are selfless, compassionate and... importantly, unconquered. To all Australian sports men and women, PLEASE refrain from using the word sacrifice when accepting recognition for your performances. You have the freedom to choose to be a sports person and really have no idea what a sacrifice is until you meet those who are injured defending our country and our quality of life. Be grateful for the service others give willingly whilst you are training and competing. Congratulations to Geoff Stokes, the Australian Head Coach who pulled together a wonderful team of coaches who were able to support the development of each individual on the Invictus Games Team. It was a pleasure to work with you Geoff. A special mention to Simon O'Regan, Head Coach of the athletics team, a job well done mate! I am so appreciative of the time we had together sharing this experience. To every athlete I had the privilege to work with, thank you! I have learnt more about life than I have been able to teach you about sport. I will be forever grateful.

03.01.2022 Congratulations Cherie Connors, the Learning and Teaching Coach at the Harrison School in Canberra. The Aspiring Leaders Program for 16 teachers is a fantastic concept and I was delighted to be able to speak with the group today. The thirst for knowledge and the desire for lifelong learning was evident, even from the experienced teachers within the group. As a young teacher it is relatively easy to be motivated to work with students, the challenges and rewards are evident e...very day. For the more experienced teacher, the challenge is often maintaining the enthusiasm for teaching. In this group, the senior staff had bucket loads of enthusiasm. Today's message was simple, "Build better people, get a better result!" If what I saw today is a reflection of the education system throughout the ACT, we are in very good hands. The students of today, who are the leaders of tomorrow, are being guided by an outstanding group of teachers with positive regard for each of their students. Keep up the great work Cherie, I look forward to seeing your enrolment in the Diploma of Leadership Coaching and Mentoring here in Canberra: www.jigsaw.edu.au My message to those who are not teachers. Take the time to reflect on those who made a difference in your lives, I bet at least one of them was a teacher. Please get behind the teachers of our children, they are shaping the future of our great nation.
