13.01.2022 Hi everyone, The long awaited government announcement on Sunday has given us some direction and hope of a return date to the clinic. It seems as though we are going to be able to reopen to face to face client sessions back in the clinic in the week beginning 26th October 2020 (pending that covid numbers are at expected levels). We will reopen with strict covid-19 plans in place. These work safe plans will change the way in which we conduct our day to day operations. We will p...ost these restrictions and requirements of entry to the clinic as the return date draws closer. All sessions will resume with face to face options as well as the ability to remain on Telehealth sessions if you wish to do so. Telehealth sessions can sometimes be conducted at school during class time so if you would like more information about this option please contact us and talk with your school about the possibility of this option. Completing the long awaited assessments needed for school, will also be our priority. Group sessions are likely to be permitted in 2021 (yay!) so please book in for School Readiness during the final two weeks of January school holidays. Attendance in this group will be so important for kindergarten children who are moving into school. If we are not permitted to conduct group programs face to face in January, this group will be delivered in an online (Zoom meeting) format. At the beginning of October we will be rescheduling all appointments for face to face sessions. If you would prefer to remain on Telehealth, please let us know by returning this email. if you must have a specific day and time for a clinic appointment, please also let us know asap. Our opening times for the remainder of 2020 will be Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays 9am to 5pm, and Saturday 9am to 2pm. We will welcome some new team member, namely Georgia, our new Practice Manager, and Erin, our new Counsellor/Art Therapist. Tak, Sophia and myself are looking forward to seeing you again. Natasha is remaining on Telehealth speech pathology sessions due to her move to the country. We will also welcome new speech pathologists to the clinic very soon. So stay home and stay safe for a little while longer and we will see you all again very soon.

Program operates for 6 Intensive sessions: Dates: 10.30am 12.00pm Wednesday 13th, Thursday 14th & Friday 15th January 2021... 10.30am 12.00pm Wednesday 20th, Thursday 21st & Friday 22nd January 2021 Cost: $850 Program goals: The aims of the School Readiness Intensive Program are to teach, develop, familiarize, and guide children to learn Classroom routines To develop conversation and Interacting skills Good listening skills using whole body listening Awareness of emotions and flexible thinking Friendship and social skills Pencil grip, scissor skills, and fine motor development Class sizes are limited to 6 children and two therapists. 11.01.2022 COVID-19 Update Wednesday 18th March 2020 In response to the continuing and growing impact of the COVID-19 virus, I am writing to you to assure you of our commitment to the health and wellbeing of all our clients. Shine Kids Therapy Clinic is continuing to take guidance from expert advice from both the Australian Government Department of Health and the Department of Education to ensure exceptional hygiene practices and to provide a safe environment for all that attend out cli...nic. We are continually monitoring the situation and taking proactive steps to safeguard our clients. We are pleased to announce that there are no instances of infection at Shine Kids Therapy Clinic or with our clients and business is operating as usual. Our business continues to remain open for all individual and group therapy sessions, and school visits. At this stage we have temporarily ceased home visits. We will remain open for business at the clinic, unless we are directed otherwise. At the clinic, we have currently enacted the following precautionary measures: Regular meetings with our staff to notify of updates as to the current status of COVID-19 globally. Conducting verbal risk assessments for all clients attending our clinic. Auditing each therapists’ weekly schedules for any potential high-risk appointments. Cancellation any appointments with clients where a high risk has been identified. Sanitising of all surfaces, equipment, and therapeutic tools after every client session. Hand washing and the distribution of hand sanitiser for all clients and staff at the commencement and cessation of sessions. I recognise that the heightened level of alert surrounding the virus has the potential to cause anxiety for some parents. It is important to remain vigilant and if you are concerned about attending the clinic, please contact us. If you are choosing a period of self-isolation as a family, please let us know so we can respond appropriately to your family’s needs. We have amazing therapists at Shine Kids Therapy Clinic and their flexibility and willingness to embrace the challenge is something that I am immensely proud of. We are considering implementing teleconference therapy sessions for children should this become necessary. If schools remain open during this time, it may also be possible for some therapy sessions to be conducted at school. In a world that seems to be evermore complex and confusing, I know that our staff, children and parents appreciate the fact that we can go about our business in a productive way and that things feel just that little bit more normal when we can go about a daily routines.
