19.01.2022 [New Zealand Intensive: 3-7 August 2020] We're excited to announce our second Intensive class for Semester 2, 2020 The Early New Testament Church! Dr Ian Smith of Christ College, Sydney will co-ordinating the Unit, with Dr Ben Hudson as our Adjunct Lecturer. We will be hosting the Intensive from Grace Theological College, Auckland, with options for New Zealanders to join live via Zoom.... [About 'The Early New Testament Church' Unit] The purpose of this unit is to enable students to gain an understanding of the New Testament outside the Gospels, with a focus on the theology and mission of the early Church, as they are reflected in the Acts of the Apostles, the New Testament Letters, and the book of Revelation. As a survey Unit, this Unit is concerned not so much with the critical issues of New Testament studies, as with enabling candidates to gain a firm understanding of the contents, themes, and theology of the New Testament outside the Gospels. This Unit, together with other Old Testament & New Testament units, forms the foundation upon which all further study of the Scriptures builds. Together, these units provide an introduction to biblical theology via a survey of the books of the Bible understood as God’s Word, centred on the gospel of Christ. Thinking about enrolling? New Zealanders can also join Christ College's Shepherd Leader Training program a distance program that you can complete as an individual, or as part of a church group. Our first module, 'Elders in Christ's Church' provides a biblical introduction to the role of elders in God’s mission through the church. It focusses on the biblical basis for eldership, the biblical qualifications required of elders, and the primary biblical f...unctions of elders in the life and mission of the church. Module A runs from 27th January - 10 April.
