22.01.2022 It all starts with a thought. Just because we think it, doesn't mean it is true. A negative thought is at its weakest when it first thought. To continually think about it, gives it strength. "The more I think about it, the BIGGER it gets." "Where attention goes; energy flows." As Buddha says, "with our thoughts we create the world & Lao Tsu urges us to be mindful of our thoughts. My favorite is a quote from "As a Man Thinks," written by James Allen. "Mind is the Master power... that moulds and makes, And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes The tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills, Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills: He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass: Environment is but the looking glass." He compares the mind to a garden. That with love & nurturing you will cultivate beautiful, nourished growth or if left unattended it will grow wild, noxious weeds. What is growing in the garden of your mind? Are you planting seeds of happiness, joy & love?? Or letting the negative, cruel & ugly weeds take over??

19.01.2022 Just like a healthy diet & exercise, a good night's sleep is essential for our optimal health & well being. Due to hormonal changes, such as pregnancy, our menstrual cycle and menopause, women are more likely to suffer from sleeping problems & insomnia. Unfortunately, women are also less likely to seek treatment, which leads them to a cycle of unhealthy sleep habits, usually addictive medications at bedtime and kick starting with coffee at breakfast. What we do and what happe...ns throughout the day can also effect our sleep. Stress, anxiety, lack of physical exercise and a low exposure to sunlight are just a few causes of the unwanted insomnia. Technology and electricity also play havoc with our circadian rythym, which affects our internal body clock and our sleep patterns. When we are out of sync with our natural biorhythms, it affects our minds, body and our spirit. We are foggy, unfocused in thought and our physical bodies heavy & lethargic. We meander through the day, as dull as dishwasher, lacking our natural vibrancy & spark. Long term lack of sleep can result in a variety of health problems, such as heart disease, stroke and obesity. It effects our hormones, emotions & thought processes, leading us into states of impaired judgement, frustration and stress. To get the most out of life, a good nights sleep is paramount to give the body an opportunity to rest & repair muscles. While asleep, the brain busily processes complex information, creating connections & memories. Hormones synergise & toxins are released. Sleep is the time for our spirit to rest, heal & rejuvenate. The chance to free ourselves from our limitations and fears, to let our heart lead the way, to allow our soul to beautifully dream.
