Levelling the surface to a ripple free finish whilst working the copper layer pays dividends when you move on to the final plate layer.

07.01.2022 Chrome-plated aluminium air filter. Customer recently purchased the items from the US and noticed chrome was peeling. In order to achieve a high quality plate layer aluminium should have a coating of zincate then nickel flash plate, copper cyanide strike and then bright acid copper. Once the surface is levelled and polished the parts are electroplated with the final nickel and chrome.
