25.01.2022 Spent my day learning more new stuff today!! I am now officially qualified to test for Meth - dont know whether to use this emoji or this one or this . I have been really sheltered and cannot believe what goes on in the world, am horrified to say the least by what I saw and learnt but really grateful to the best instructor in @isaacsouthwell from @deconsystemsaus who made the training brilliant, thanks Isaac

22.01.2022 Stop the spread of CoVid-19 by following simple hand hygiene practices which are the most effective strategy to eliminate harmful viruses from your hands that are the mode of transport to highly touched surfaces. #covid-19 #hand hygiene #staysafe #stopviraltransmission

21.01.2022 After filming the how to use a microfiber cloth here is another on how to wipe down a surface thinking about how to use only one side of a cloth and also how to think about minimizing cross contamination!

20.01.2022 So I had a question tonight asking "How will I know if my unit needs cleaning?" Firstly switch the unit on and with a torch in hand shine it through the blades/fins that open. Here you will see through the blades to the barrel fan and the back wall behind the barrel fan.... If you see visible mould in these areas then you know it needs to be hygienically cleaned by an air hygiene technician who is: 1. Trained appropriately by refrigeration mechanics to safely isolate power to the unit and strip down the machine to enable the mould to be cleaned properly and who is also; 2. A trained and accredited mould technician who will understand why mould is such a problem in these units and how to mitigate risks when cleaning it. You can see in the pics below how to tell if your unit requires a hygiene clean.

20.01.2022 As we head into winter and more time indoors my blog addresses a few of the Environmental Pollutants commonly contributing to poor indoor air quality that can be devastating to occupants health in the long term. Hope this sheds some light for many people with some simple, easy to do habit changes that will make a big difference to the air you breathe. Laudy

20.01.2022 Electromagnetic fields, specifically Radiofrequency radiation in our homes are something we can control most of the time by eliminating the source or if unable to eliminate it we can try and shield it. However rf radiation from cell phone towers we cannot do anything about, with 400 meters being a minimum safe distance. Being in the line of site changes everything so this week I came across image one barely meters from these Hawthorn apartments.... Even worse was the other images in Alphington towering over townhouses in Yarralea St! Its absolutely criminal that these towers are being allowed to go up so close to homes, I cant imagine and wouldnt want to see the readings in these properties. Sadly I bet the occupants have a host of health issues-and 5G hasnt gone fully live yet, that will be totally disastrous! When looking to buy or rent a home please dont settle for anything close to these base stations for your healths sake. #emf #emfs #environment #environmentalhealth #environmentalillness #health #wellness #healthybuildings #wellness #healthyhomes #healthylifestyles #wifi #wifiradiationisbad #radiation #rf #cancer #cancercausingradiation #microwaveradiation #emftowers #cellphonetowers #wakeup

19.01.2022 Fresh Air and Sunlight The windows of our homes are the lungs of our houses and, just like our lungs, our homes need to be able to breathe too, expelling stale and polluted indoor air by diluting it and bringing in fresh air that reduces moisture levels, odours and other pollutants. It's one of the things that helps to keep our homes healthy. The sun too is vitally important, it is the original disinfectant used forever by humans to maintain health. When we clean and open the... windows of our homes we let the fresh air and sunlight shine in, they are two small but quite significant factors in keeping our indoor environments healthy. In Melbourne this week, we are blessed to have some gentle air movement and glorious autumn sunshine such as we did today, make the most of it while you can before winter sets in an help to have as healthy a home as possible by airing it out. - Open doors and windows to let air flow ventilate your space. - Open curtains and allow the warmth of the sun to warm your home, saving on heating costs and helping disinfect spaces where the suns warmth sits. - Put your washing out in the sun and allow the sun and the breeze to dry and naturally disinfect not only your washing but pillows, cushions and mattresses. And while you're at it, why not take some time to sit in the sun yourself and feel its warmth while taking some time out in your day? Perhaps work outside either side of midday when the sun offers us its health benefits for free. As we know the sun contributes to our own health in so many ways including natural production of Vitamin D, the healing of wounds on the skin, it offers a boost to immunity, lowers blood pressure and cancer risk, it improves mood and SAD, improves sleep amongst a long list of benefits. 19.01.2022 Hi everyone as mentioned in yesterdays blog, I finally got around to filming a short video showing you have to effectively use 8 sides of a microfiber cloth when cleaning

18.01.2022 Its taken a while but I have finally put together a blog with a bit of a view on the current situation and some cleaning advice, hope it helps, enjoy reading and if you have any questions let me know.

18.01.2022 Just starting fourth and final unit, instead of being the easiest its been difficult to disassemble, team is getting weary, still have at least an hour and a half to go. Then the pack up and clean up to do. The misconception is that they can be cleaned easily and quickly, not so if youre doing the correct thing to remove and wash out all visible mould, then time needs to be spent doing it properly, the team have done a brilliant job the last two nights, very proud of them. Day of rest tomorrow and another two units to clean on Monday. #HVAC #HVACcleaning #airconditioning #airconditionercleaning #splitsystemairconditioner #bacteria #germs #mould #mould #dust #humidity #health #environmentalcleaning #environmentalillness #buildingbiology #buildingbiologycleaning #buildingbiologymelbourne

17.01.2022 When George Orwell wrote 1984 he could not have possibly foreseen the current events unfolding, it is quite eery to think that Orwellian predications are now a reality. The use of technology in saving lives, surgery, medicine and science are amazing and to be appaulded yet the dark side of the technology is overlooked and we must consider if its worth it. Not under these circumstances.... The Chinese Social Credit System means that facial recognition and governments can decide if you are a good citizen or a bad citizen and celebrate your life or destroy it. If you give blood - good citizen. If you have a bad credit history - bad citizen. These are the types of criteria that will be used if this is allowed to go ahead. If you are a bad citizen you will be banished from society, you cant get credit or buy a house, your children wont be allowed to go to good schools, you cant get work and the list goes on This is INSANE that this sort of system can even be considered. Please people, wake up and look around at what is going on before its too late. https://www.businessinsider.com.au/china-social-credit-syst https://www.sbs.com.au//big-brother-is-coming-inside-china https://www.abc.net.au//chinas-social-credit-syste/9596204 https://www.theatlantic.com//2018/02/china-surveil/552203/ https://mobile.abc.net.au//china-social-credit-a/10200278

17.01.2022 We are travelling down to Geelong, Torquay and Angelsea week beginning 18th November if anyone needs split systems cleaned while the team are in the Bellarine P...eninsula. I am attaching a link to our online booking calendar for a 10 minute pre assessment chat to work out if we can help you with your unit and offer a quote. https://www.cleanfreshgroup.com.au/contact See more

17.01.2022 CoVid-19 Tip Sharing a realisation we came to earlier in the week and the protocol we implemented this to mitigate the risk. We are all accepting mail and deliveries from drivers and posties who have been in contact with hundreds of people on a daily basis and swapping parcels and mail without wearing gloves or masks and I am guessing no time/interest in using hand sanitiser, let alone the sorters and packers so who knows how many dozens of people have been in contact with ou...r mail and parcels! Imagine the viral shedding and transfer.arghh. So, to address this risk factor and minimise exposure here is our protocol 1. Set up a big tub at the front door for deliveries. 2. Put up a sign requesting all deliveries be placed in the tub and the door bell rung to alert us occupants. 3. After the driver/postie has left put gloves on. 4. Open the parcels and/or mail outside so as not to contaminate our benches inside as we don't know who has handled the items or what they are contaminated with. 5. While outside, walk straight around to your rubbish and recycling bins and dispose of all paper and delivery boxes & packaging. 6. Take your gloves off and dispose of those straight into bin as well. 7. Wash hands at outdoor tap or sanitise before going back inside your home. (Keep a bar of soap near your tap or place a hand sanitiser somewhere you can access near your bins out of the weather while using this protocol). Feel free to print the screenshot I put up or create your own.

16.01.2022 Had the absolute privilege today to help Bec and Warren work towards ensuring their home is safe for Warren to live in, he is on a journey of ruling out what may be contributing to his poor health and today we looked at all the areas in the home with a thermal imaging camera to identify if there were any areas displaying moisture.

15.01.2022 Someone was not very happy that we were in her space making a racket!

14.01.2022 Great commentary addressing the rise of untrained, uneducated opportunistic individuals flocking to the cleaning industry wanting to make a quick dollar with a lack of understanding about the unnecessary use of chemicals and the implications of their overuse, the increase of internal moisture levels potentially creating other problems with mould and the fact that fogging doesn’t work. Cleaning is the true hero here and must be executed properly for management of any form of biologicals as part of a solution. https://www.linkedin.com//laudycincotta_management-riskman

14.01.2022 I feel like a stalker!! Yet I had to double back when I saw there was someone in that death tower. Couldnt believe he seemed to have no protective gear on, no radiation protection whatsoever . Employers have a duty of care to keep employees safe - endangering lives is not ok, I imagine this guy must feel so sick with what would be an exposure to horrific levels of radiation Im so sad for these guys installing new assignments to towers in their haste to roll out new ...technologies without understanding what they are exposing people to let alone what they are doing to their ow cellular biology. #emf #emfs #ehs #electricalsensitivity #environment #environmentalhealth #environmentalillness #buildingbiology #buildingbiologymelbourne #radiation #rf #cancer #cancercausingradiation #microwaveradiation #emftowers #cellphonetowers #wakeup #doesheknowhewillgetcancer #timetochangeprofession

12.01.2022 While most people were at the Melbourne Cup yesterday, my dedicated duo were flat out cleaning 3 split system air conditioners for a family who have high levels of humidity in their home, condensation issues, visible mould growth and air conditioners completely clogged up and covered in mould. No wonder they cant breathe well, the kids are sick year round constantly with colds and allergies. When indoor air quality is compromised illness follows. We typically see respirator...y illnesses, asthma and allergies, especially in children, where there is mould present yet the environment is the last thing people will think about investigating to see if it can be a contributing factor; it usually is! Most people dont realise that split system air conditioners are a brilliant dehumidifier. When cleaned properly and not clogged up with dust and mould they will work very effectively to remove moisture from your indoor environment. To proliferate mould requires moisture and a food source - which is the heavy dust load. The pics show what an uncleaned system looks like with mould growth running rampant vs a now efficient and clean system after the team did their magic. Its really important to ensure the HVAC hygienist who cleans your unit has been trained and understands the dangers of mould so they dont spread spores through the air further contaminating the space and that they know how to properly dismantle a split system getting to the areas where most mould is hiding and that they clean it properly for you. This cannot be done in 45 minutes as many people claim!!! It is a painstaking job that requires time to do the work properly and do it once to ensure occupant health. Control the moisture by keeping it under 50% relative humidity and keep your dust load low and you will reduce and control any mould growth. Remember if you dont clean your filters your lungs will become the filters and you will become ill. #HVAC #HVACcleaning #airconditioning #airconditionercleaning #splitsystemairconditioner #bacteria #germs #mould #dust #humidity #health #environmentalcleaning #environmentalillness #buildingbiology #buildingbiologycleaning #buildingbiologymelbourne #in

12.01.2022 A short video about how to stop the spread of CoVid-19 by following some simple hand hygiene practices to effectively eliminate harmful viruses from your hands Ensure you use a good amount of soap and scrub vigorously including the area above your wrists, ensure you scrub between fingers, on front and back of hands and under your nails and dry well. #covid-19 #hand hygiene #staysafe #stopviraltransmission

11.01.2022 A new Blog addressing my concerns around the rush of untrained people into the Cleaning and Decontamination spaces due to CoVid-19 that will cause no end to problems as I see them about to arise. I speak to what you could look out for to understand whether you actually require a decontamination clean, and to ensure you are aware of what you are paying for. www.cleanfreshgroup.com.au//blog-3-blog-beware-of-fakes-wi

11.01.2022 Thanks Rebecca Carden for organizing our first educational healthy living workshop to the essential oils community educating them about EMFs today and boy did we have lots to talk about!! We had a wonderful morning spent at the Wheelers Hill Library in the most beautiful serene setting and as my pictures reveal on my way in was a massive cell phone tower built almost on top of homes and about 100 meters from the library - I almost wanted to knock on the door of those homes a...nd ask if their health was ok because I knew it wouldnt be with that type of exposure The ladies present were horrified as my travel everywhere in my bag meter revealed the levels of RF radiation were at extreme I am loving helping and educating people and am working out how to best deliver these workshops to reach those with open minds wanting to learn more. I want to empower people to learn more and do more. As I said to the group today in JKs words, I dont want you to believe me and what I say, I want you to listen and go away think about it and do your own research and then when youre done go and you know its true then go and teach others. One of my favorite sayings by mahatma Gandhi says Be the change you wish to see in the World.

10.01.2022 For anyone interested in hearing about 5G and the concerns around it and chatting about what they can and cannot control to safeguard themselves and their families I cant recommend this event highly enough. I will be there along with many other Building Biologists if anyone is interested in learning and being proactive then purchase a ticket and come along.

09.01.2022 Round Up is a herbicide. It is a known antimicrobial, antibiotic, and a chelating agent that takes minerals out of any systems it comes in contact with. This chemical directly affects many pathways in our bodies and our gut microbiome. The scientific literature is plentiful, clearly documenting the adverse health effects it causes to human health and that it contributes to antibiotic resistance amongst a multitude of other effects. That the US EPA has openly stated in this ar...ticle that Glyphosate, which is the active ingredient in the pesticide Round Up, is not a carcinogen and is safe claiming it doesn’t pose a danger to humans and have re-approved the chemical just totally defies logic in the face of all the damning studies showing otherwise. Have a read of the blog post I wrote for Our New Normal and listen to the brilliant interview we did with the passionate Cyndi O’Meara about the dangers glyphosate poses and what we can possibly do about it. There are also links if you'd like to do something about it by writing to your local council.

09.01.2022 A follow up to my blog and concerns surrounding Coronavirus decontamination cleaning, the overuse of chemical disinfects and the practice of fogging/electrostatic spraying that may cause more harm than good moving forward. Disclaimer Im not a scientist or virologist rather sharing my opinions on what Ive seen unfold surrounding what I believe to be unnecessary practices in a time when fear is heightened due to uncertainty. I believe we can stay safe with simple processes and information to support informed choices we can all make

09.01.2022 Looking around us at the surreal world we find ourselves in and acknowledging that anxiety, uncertainty and fear in the current climate surrounding CoVid-19/SARS-CoV-2 is running high and thinking how we can still help people while keeping our business going and our staff employed I am drawing on my knowledge and study of Building Biology and the experience gained within the Cleaning Industry over the last 15 years having set up countless infection control protocols for our o...wn business and our clientele in the medical sector so I am consulting either in person practicing social distancing, or via zoom to help concerned clients set up a protocol including some education around processes and products to use for their homes and workplaces to ensure viral spread is mitigated. My staff have all been briefed on additional protocols that have been implemented based on the advice coming from the Centre for Disease Control (CDC), the US EPA, The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Victorian Government Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and can execute one off cleans or ongoing regular infection control cleans as some of our clients have started implementing this week for a four week block until we can reassess what is happening. If you have concerns about your home or work environments, contact us about consultations and support that are available to create and implement infection control plans to ensure and maintain happy, healthy and safe environments.

08.01.2022 Great article shared by Bridget Gardner on LinkedIn who voiced the same concerns about opportunistic cowboys with no education or understanding of the cleaning sector and how to clean with infection prevention in mind, no understanding of the built environment and high levels of moisture in a sealed environment with an available food source and the potential for mould growth, let alone environmental toxins and the disastrous effects this is going to have downstream for human... and planetary health. It seems to be a worldwide issue with people taking advantage in many countries not just Australia as evidenced by this BBC article .. . Please remember your best and most natural defence for your own hygiene in any situation it to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water and keeping all high touch surfaces wiped, clean and free of any organic matter. https://www.bbc.com//uk-scotland-scotland-business-52577705

08.01.2022 Cleaning is such an unglamorous and thankless industry but it is a very relevant and necessary essential service as has been recognised at this time. Thanks Bridget for sharing, wonderful to see you gaining recognition for your tireless efforts and raising awareness about the industry. We were trained by Bridget in the early days of our business and continue to look to her for guidance often, as we did when this whole pandemic saga began, it is always invaluable.... Bridget is responsible for putting together so much documentation especially for expressing to industry the risks associated with cleaning and that risk assessments were a must. Remember Covid-19 or not cleaning goes hand in hand with hygiene and is always necessary as the foundation of keeping a balanced healthy approach to the way we live. Remember - The physical action of wiping a surface with a microfibre cloth effectively lifts the dirt away from the surface being wiped. Wipe in an S shape and towards you while lifting and collecting organic matter off the surface. Always focus on surfaces and areas of high usage (door handles, light switches, etc) wiping with a non-toxic cleaning solution and you can then follow with a disinfectant if you choose, the most non-toxic disinfectant would be a hydrogen peroxide solution. My short video about how to use the eight sides of a cloth that can be viewed here https://www.facebook.com/cleanfreshgrp/videos/625226791592032/ showing how to fold over to a new surface/side that has been unused prior to wiping all relevant touch points. Remember wiping often and washing your cloths and your hands will be the most effective tool in your arsenal towards staying well.

05.01.2022 Split system air conditioners are designed to heat and cool our homes yet as a piece of machinery we never think to look after them in any way until they either break down or stop working efficiently. We have our cars serviced and tuned with oil changed yearly if not more frequently however we never think to clean the filters or have our split system air conditioners cleaned yearly. Split system air conditioners act as dehumidifiers removing moisture from the internal space a...nd expelling it to the outdoors. This helps to support internal moisture control by keeping humidity at a level that doesnt support mould growth. When cleaned properly and not clogged up with dust and mould they will work very effectively. However when not cleaned or looked after the filters will clog up with dust because anything that goes through your filter goes through into your unit and sticks to the coil and plastics of the unit as its wet and or moist. Then you have introduced the food source for mould to grow in the right conditions. A great way to help your split system to function efficiently is to ensure your filters are cleaned every 4-6 weeks especially when you are using it for both heating and cooling. There are two sides to a filter - air-on and air-off. When you open your unit you will be looking at the air on side. Once removed if you spin it around you will be looking at the air off side which is always going to be cleaner than the air on side. When we wash filters we must each and every time wash them from the air off side back through to the air on side so anything that the filter has arrested washes off. Take your filters outside and using a hose wash off all the dust from the air off side, tapping the water out once cleaned and allow to air dry fully, in the sun if possible before reinstalling them. This will ensure your unit is able to breathe and function more efficiently. **Edited to note that the all pics of filters are not from the same unit rather various units at different stages of the cleaning process**

04.01.2022 Sharing my post..... I am realizing what I think is common sense and that everyone would know about is not the correct way I should be thinking. When at the physio this morning and about to pay (tap card) Vince was about to key in his PIN number, I interrupted as usual and asked why he wouldnt use the side/edge of his card to key in the number without touching the key pad?... Both Vince and the receptionist exclaimed I never thought of that, what a brilliant idea - same thing happened picking up cleaning supplies!! So my tip for the day when needing to key in your PIN number upon paying for something use the side of your card rather than your finger!

04.01.2022 Following on from inspecting the house especially in wet areas such as under sinks and vanities and checking flexible braided water hoses were in good condition we took indoor air samples to rule out anything mould related in this home

03.01.2022 Another worthwhile and really important event for anyone with children or anyone at all interested in health at which both Nicole Bijlsma and Louise Copeman will be helping to educate the Warranwood school community on the dangers of wifi and having it in schools, come and learn and work out how this can be rolled out to other schools across Melbourne to start safeguarding kids that rely on us adults to protect them.

02.01.2022 Huge job for the team tonight working in a retail environment where the split systems were cleaned earlier this year but only sprayed with chemicals and the business owner was charged a fortune for the privilege by a refrigeration mechanic who has no understanding of mould and no care factor! Enter my A team who have organized a scissor lift to access the units properly to strip them down and wash all of the mould out allowing the store owner to be confident he is looking a...fter everyones health and well being! Its a huge job that will require the team to work over two nights to complete the job after the store closes.! 01.01.2022 Back again for part two of the mammoth task of cleaning awkwardly installed split system air conditioners in a retail environment with tight spaces to get up high enough to clean them. Last night saw a number of obstacles before the team could start cleaning which meant a very late start and a 3am finish time- not something we would do often and really want to help the owners of this small business who are part of our community! Great lessons learned in working under such conditions
