24.01.2022 The Nursery shall be closed for the Christmas & New year weekends so we too can also take a break. We look forward to seeing you all again in the New Year.

23.01.2022 We want to wish all our customers and Facebook friends and their families a safe and happy Christmas and New Year. We thank you for your wonderful support and words of encouragement this year as we have been working to renew the Nursery. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2021

22.01.2022 Glorious day after a frosty start. Mowing the back paddock at the Nursery. Gotta be one of the best office views.

21.01.2022 Spring is a wonderful time of year and a lot of the early flowering bulbs such as Daffodil and Tulip are now coming into flower as are some of the Rhododendron. A very satisfying time that makes you feel good.

18.01.2022 Working with the views of Mt Roland from the Nursery is always a pleasure. Just want to share some of Mt. Rolands different faces over time. Always a new face every day.

15.01.2022 Some more stunning clematis in flower at the moment at the nursery. Unfortunately some of these are our stock plants used for propagation and will not be available until next year.

14.01.2022 A wonderful time of year. Cold mornings but absolutely glorious days. Buds on the plants that died back over winter are now swelling and ready to burst into life again.

13.01.2022 Clematis propagations are well underway for online sales commencing next month and shop sales for spring 2021. Stock levels will not be at 100% in 2021 but will be at full stock levels in 2022. It is most satisfying to see the plants growing well.

11.01.2022 Over this propagation period we have been modifying our process and making incremental changes to the propagation tunnel to reduce and better control the temperature, improve access and humidity. A solid improvement in the strike rate has resulted and we are really happy with the outcomes at the moment. Plants are rooting beautifully and just begging to be potted up. Looking forward to making a few other planned modifications next season and seeing the results.

09.01.2022 The Nursery is opening for the first time in around 18 months tomorrow (Friday). Work is still ongoing and stock will not be at 100% capacity until next year but it is a good feeling to finally get to this point. I look forward to meeting some of you at some stage. Please make sure you say Hi if you visit.

08.01.2022 A big thank you to all who visited today and also for all the kind comments we received. Thanks also for being so patient as we were not expecting the number of people that turned up and were a little overwhelmed at times. Happy gardening

08.01.2022 It has been a while since we posted but it has been a busy time at the nursery with the refurbishments and propagation. One of the tasks completed is the rebuilding of the second shade tunnel to take some of the overflow from the larger shade tunnel which is now quite crowded. Our thanks to Fiona and Todd whose help in the initial clean up was greatly appreciated.

06.01.2022 We have been busy refurbishing the Nursery over the last few months. Pictures are of Polytunnel 5 as it was a couple of months ago and as it is now. Still more to do but it is coming together nicely.

06.01.2022 Clematis in our poly tunnels are starting to flower. The two noticed today are Clematis cirrhosa var. balearica which is a lovely evergreen winter flowering Clematis that can be used to add some interest to a garden when most other plants are resting. Clematis Montana Warwickshire Rose will quickly grow to 4.5 to 7.0m and is ideal to cover a wall or fence.

06.01.2022 Back paddock gardens are slowly coming together. Blueberries are almost ready for harvesting and more permanent access pathways are being created. Some of the fruit trees are starting to fruit even though they are in their first year. Daylily and Iris are growing well but the rabbits have taken to liking the liliums which has decimated them this year. Have to put up some rabbit proof fencing this year.

05.01.2022 OPENING HOURS The nursery is now open from 10:00 to 4:30 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from October to the end of April. We apologise for the incorrect information on Google and we are working with Google to correct this but it is is proving more difficult than it should be.

04.01.2022 Finished painting the shop walls and floors at last. Diesel dog is giving it his final inspection and seal of approval with a trail of muddy footprints.

02.01.2022 Hi everyone. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Gail and I am the new operator of Clematis Cottage Nursery. The nursery has been closed for around 18 months and a lot of work is now going on in the background to clean up and make the nursery ready for business again in the spring. We will be opening from October until April on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays from 10:00 to 4:30. The website is up and running and more plants are being added regularly. We shall short...ly be setting up a new area to display the additional plants and items that are available in store for our Tasmanian customers. I look forward to meeting and being of service to you Gail
