This was an incredible technological achievement, that resulted in the Australia that we have today. Due to his exploration and navigational feats, my family was able to settle in Australia over 80 years ago. Thank you Captain Cook.

I believe this mayoral minute marks a key momen...t in The Hills as we continue to move forward as a united community 1. This Mayoral Minute be received 2. An invitation be extended to the local Aboriginal Elders to meet with Council 3. Acknowledgment of Country be included in Citizenship Ceremonies and at major community events. 4. Council investigate practical ways to recognise our Indigenous Australians I think the conclusion of the mayoral minute includes a powerful call for unity moving forward The motto of the Council is ‘to strive for better things’ and I call for unity from all residents and those beyond our boundaries as we strive towards a better future for all regardless of our different origins, beliefs and backgrounds. I want to ensure that the Hills will remain a place that all of us are proud to call home for many years to come

06.01.2022 GYMS, DANCE STUDIOS and COMMUNITY SPORT REOPENING! Here’s an update many have been waiting for.... From 13 June 2020 gyms, fitness, yoga, pilates, indoor pools ...and dance studios can reopen as more COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. - up to 10 people per class and 100 people in an indoor venue are allowed - community centres, including their recreational facilities can reopen - some indoor recreational facilities including pools and saunas can also reopen with restricted numbers - tattoo and massage parlours can reopen with up to 10 clients The four metre rule must be applied at all times. From 1 July 2020 CHILDREN’S COMMUNITY SPORT COMPETITIONS can restart for those aged 18 years and under. A decision on a potential return for adult community sport will be made clear, at a later stage. 05.01.2022 Today the new Greenway bridge at Kellyville was officially opened by Dr Michelle Byrne - Hills Shire Mayor and David Elliott MP. The bridge is part of the Green...way cycle link between Bella Vista Farm and Rouse Hill Town Centre. It’s not a cycle ride I am contemplating but cyclists Tim and Anthony said it was great as they wouldn’t have to negotiate their bike across Memorial Ave any more!! See more
